Deliciously well put together layers of berry - all wild and ripe - some slight Slate, white pepper, and sweetened dried cherry.
a rare find outside of the country, and a great wine indeed!

I drink Mosel reisling when I want to share with my wife, but when I drink on my own or with homeboys( whenever that may be), I go Nahe. Lock n load minerality and a very dense mix of slate, salt, & peach. A tic above room temp & the rs comes through. Balanced. Skurnik importer. — 6 years ago

A serious Pfalz qualitatswein, I think. Such minerality & layers, with an edge of sweetness but just alluded to. In a almost completely Trocken style but not. I don’t know this maker well but oozes quality. Refreshing after a Mets loss. Thiesse/ Skurnik importer. — 7 years ago

The bottle gets a 9.0, but I want to give it a 10.0 because the Skurnik portfolio, to an extent, has hit Mississippi! A big moment for the troubled relationship my state seems to have with good European wine. Nice more robust style Gamay. Not particularly my cup of tea, but it tastes damn good tonight. Chuggable lighter weight Mencia from terrific producers, one from the Rhone. High acid, almost effervescent mineral notes, with bright cherry, white pepper, herbs, and violets... fermented in cement, some whole cluster. Delicious!

Covid-19 wine #2: virtually shared with home boy at dusk. Portuguese Baga, give it air as has a delicate but Nebbiolo-ish shade. 12.5%, Skurnik importer. I’m enjoying Portugal now. Plus my MD/ epidemiologist neighbor listened to my lungs and gave me a clean bill of health. Now to work and help keep our patients healthy in pandemic anxiety. — 6 years ago

Smell of ripened sweet plums in an orchard where a strong aromatic herbs are grown along the edge.

Dense and lovely - this wine shows bright, rich fruits, raspberry pie, unsweetened blackberry jam, hints of Provençal herbs with a lip smacking tanginess, and elderberry acidity.

Give me a Skurnik find any day.
