Purple red, excellent clarity, but a still cider, no bubbles. Light aroma of blueberries, flavor a blend of blueberry with neutral apple, with stronger apple character on the finish. Good acidity, semisweet with great length on the blueberry flavor. Slight seedy character from the berries on the finish with some uniform viscosity in the body. Decent stuff if not terribly appley — 4 years ago
Vigne Franche – Sauvignon Gris 2024
Vin de France – France 🇫🇷
Overview
A 100% Sauvignon Gris made as a natural wine — no added sulfites, no added yeasts, and fully vegan-friendly. Sauvignon Gris, a close cousin of Sauvignon Blanc, offers rounder texture and a slightly more exotic fruit character. In this 2024 expression, the natural vinification brings freshness and a touch of rustic charm.
Aromas & Flavors
Zesty notes of citrus peel, grapefruit, and gooseberry, layered with stone fruit and a hint of herbs. The natural style adds a lightly textured, almost cider-like nuance that makes it playful and distinctive.
Mouthfeel
Crisp and refreshing, light-bodied but with a textured mid-palate. Bright acidity keeps it lively, while the unfiltered style leaves a casual, slightly wild impression.
Food Pairing
Perfect for mezze, grilled shrimp, fresh summer salads, or simply sipping with friends. A crowd-pleaser that also works as an introduction to natural wines.
Verdict
An approachable natural white that’s fun, zesty, and easy to enjoy. Built for casual moments but with enough character to stand out.
📌 Sidebar – Educational Note
Sauvignon Gris is a pink-skinned mutation of Sauvignon Blanc. It’s rarer, fuller-bodied, and tends to deliver rounder, more aromatic wines than its better-known cousin — making it an exciting discovery for wine lovers. — 6 months ago
Berry white Altamont rose beer
Refershingly not too sweet w/ hints of rose wine and raspberries —- good for those who want a non sweet cider type beer that doesn’t taste like apples or traditional beer while not being sour. — a year ago

Second bottle. Consistent from the one early ‘25.
100% Pinot noir; single vineyard; 4g/l dosage
I remember thinking the last bottle had a slightly creamy mousse (which based on the lower pressure style, makes sense) and quite the cider-like richness, and this bottle continued that profile. Deep golden in the glass with big aromatics of apples, pear, cinnamon and orange blossom (very autumnal). Lovely mouthfeel and texture with big fruit like golden apples, raspberries and spiced pear. Dosage works well here with the fruit being ripe and fleshy so that it can take center stage instead of dosage. Nice grower style for the price. — 24 days ago
