Truth & Valor – Cabernet Sauvignon 2022
Paso Robles – California, USA 🇺🇸
Overview
Paso Robles’ warm climate and calcareous soils make it a hotspot for bold, plush Cabernets. Truth reflects the authenticity of the vineyard, while Valor honors the winemaker’s courage to let terroir shine with minimal intervention.
Aromas & Flavors
Ripe blackcurrant, blackberry jam, and plum dominate, accented by mocha, vanilla, and baking spice from oak. Subtle notes of dried sage and graphite bring a savory undertone beneath the fruit.
Mouthfeel
Full-bodied and plush, with generous tannins wrapped in a velvety texture. Balanced by moderate acidity, the finish is long, ripe, and polished.
Food Pairings
Best with grilled ribeye, smoky BBQ brisket, or lamb chops. Also pairs beautifully with hearty pasta dishes or a wedge of aged Gouda.
Verdict
A bold yet polished Paso Robles Cabernet. Fruit-forward, structured, and satisfying — a wine that wears its California sunshine with pride. 🍷cheers! — 9 months ago
Good aroma with herb, forest like. Slight sweet strawberry flavor, bright and enough acidity. Soft tanning. Pretty, charming world be good word to express this wine. Gilbert et Christine Felettig La Justice Gevrey Chambertin 2017 @2250, domaine - 302, 210316-210423 — 5 years ago

A long two weeks forging our new “frontier” deserves this aptly named drop of gorgeous grape juice. Blackberry jam and tobacco with some pepper. #VAMOS — 7 years ago

Very nice. Has medium finish - not soft or big, just nice. — 2 years ago
Nice spiced berry nose of blackberry bramble, blueberry with notes of char, clove, and hints of brown sugar in the bouquet. Soft and smooth blackberry galette with weak black tea and a subtle spice on a medium long finish. Better on the second day, still holding up on the third. Great value, would buy again.

No sediment when this half bottle poured. Bright acidity, subtle red fruits when handled gently, with patience. — 5 years ago
Not as rich as the other vintages I’ve tasted, this 2011 bottling showoffs its fruity and fresh side. Plum, raspberry jam, cherry, cassis, graphite, and hint of chocolate and smoke. Palate was fresh and lively, with round acidity that had a minty feel.
This is delicious, but lacking a bit complexity that I’ve come to expect from this Merlot. I probably did not do it justice by decanting it for only about 30 minutes, because the guests could not wait. — 7 years ago

An excellent wine. Still fresh and will improve with more time in the cellar. Full-bodied, cassis, blackberries, cherry, cola, and a bit of spice. — 8 months ago
Great food, wine served a little warm - will dig something out of their cellar next… — 10 months ago
Outstanding balance. Classic burgundy. Black cherry, bramble, mushroom, trace of barnyard, medium body, long finish. Well done Nicholas. — 6 years ago
