— 5 years ago
As our old Pastor Fr. Brucciani said when we took him out to dinner at King Estate many years ago and had this wine with dinner... “this is DAMN good wine, yes damn good!” full British accent and all... enough said! — 6 years ago
Stunning! Decanted for 2hours. Medium to heavy red. Complex, elegant, well constructed and balanced. Dark cherries, blackberry, raspberries, vanilla, hints of dark chocolate. Followed by leather notes, red/white pepper, peppercorn. Very long, smooth finish. Highly recommend. — 6 years ago

Cor escura e intensa, corpo denso. Excelente! — 4 years ago
First drink since finishing an antibiotic course and awaiting my root canal in a few weeks. This is zippy fresh but has enough of a bass note- it reminds of some of the amphorae matured trepat I’ve tried-so I stay interested. Also doesn’t shout summer wine. Blackberries, & compote, good balance between fruit & dry. Nicely done for about 19$. Jose Pastor importer — 6 years ago
Canary Island product. Pale harvest orange-yellow, excellent clarity. Dried fruit or fruit leather notes in nose. Smoky apricot, peach flavors with a touch of salinity. Really different white; yes, a curiosity, but also a good pour. Some astringency in finish. — 8 years ago
McCarthy & Schiering, $11
Bursting with tropical flavors, lots of pineapple and guava, almost reminds me of POG juice. Balanced with a crisp acidity and very easy to drink. Amazing for the price, I immediately went back and grabbed 2 more bottles — 3 years ago
From Castilla Y Leon, & at 14.5% abv, not something that typically attracts me. But the importer Pastor brings in great sherries, so down the rabbit hole I went. Glad I went. Pours an inky black, with integrated blackberries & cassis on nose & on palate. Fills up the mouth but in balance- like Juan Gil, does not drink big or taste out of balance. If anything, tastes more like a black fruited Chinon, especially with a fine graininess to its texture. Had with harissa chicken & quinoa. — 4 years ago

Bright briar fruit and black pepper initially, fleshing out into blueberry pie and baking spice on the second night. Absolutely delicious, juicy, spicy Mencia with both muscle and finesse-both weighty and low alcohol. What a steal from the Jose Pastor portfolio. — 8 years ago

Nice! Reductive, but blew off and has great acid and red fruit. — 4 months ago
