The wines was perfect! It aged so well and showed richness of aromas such as tosted, vanilla, ‘sous bois’, mushrooms, dried berries and figs, and a hint of eucalyptus
The tannins are so velvet, the acidity is refreshing yet and the finish is delicious!
Very good wine!

Interesting. Very effervescent initially. Cloudy, unfiltered appearance and flavor profile definitely has some yeast / witbier to it in addition to lemon, pear cider, white flowers and some spice. I wouldn’t call it classic Alsatian Riesling but solid addition to the T-day table — 6 years ago

Pleasant sweet fruit o the nose. Smooth finish. Excellent Pinot. — 7 years ago
Big fan of the savory, mineral, muscular, classic expression of this c-h. 85% Syrah 15% Roussanne. Needs time. Tight and restrained. Black olive, iron, plum, earth notes on a salty, mineral frame. Intense and wound up very tight. Very evocative, lovely. — 9 months ago

Domaine Marc Portaz – Apremont 2021
Vin de Savoie AOC – Savoie, France 🇫🇷
Overview
Made from 100% Jacquère, this white comes from the alpine slopes near Chambéry. Apremont is one of the most famous crus of Savoie, known for producing crisp, mineral-driven wines that reflect their high-altitude terroir and limestone soils.
Aromas & Flavors
Delicate white flowers, green apple, lemon zest, and a touch of mountain herbs. Light, citrus-driven palate with a flinty minerality that lingers.
Mouthfeel
Lean, bright, and bone-dry, with zippy acidity and a refreshing, alpine finish. A classic mountain white—clean and precise.
Food Pairing
Perfect with fondue Savoyarde, raclette, lake fish (like perch or trout), or alpine charcuterie.
Verdict
A textbook Jacquère that delivers purity and freshness. Proof that alpine terroir wines can punch far above their weight in elegance and drinkability.
Personal Highlight
Enjoyed this bottle in Lausanne, Switzerland, where French alpine wines often sit side-by-side with Swiss Chasselas. A reminder of how borders blur when it comes to great alpine whites. Cheers! — 10 months ago
Entry-level Chasselas by Luc Massy, a historic producer from the village of Epesses in Lavaux (right on the shore of Lake Geneva, about 6 miles southeast of Lausanne). Pale gold color. Discreet nose with subtle aromas of pear, bake apple and vanilla. Light-bodied, round, delicate. Low acidity, subtle minerality. Great breakfast wine, as they say around here. — 4 years ago
Very nice Sauternes with delightful balance of fruit, flowers, sweetness and unctuousness, plus sufficient acids to bring it all together. Quite a delicious sipper. This was the very last bottle of Sauternes I could find at my local BevMo in Santa Monica, and it was just a half bottle at that. I should really go back to the Wine House or Wally’s for my wine purchases but this tells me how under appreciated Sauternes is in the U.S. A pity.

Tasty. Surprisingly sweet, a bit fruity, a bit floral. Tasted fresh, like a nice spring day. — 6 years ago

Wow. The 10 rating is for how incredible this is considering it’s 58 yeard old. Incredible amount of fruit still present with a great flavor profile. Unbelievable. (Ignoring the quality/age ratio, it’s probably a 9.1-9.2, but easily hits 10 when other factors are considered!) — 7 years ago
