Domaine De La Bongran Vire-Clesse Cuvee E.J. Thevenet has been my favorite go to WB, but at half the price this Cuvee Symphonie is now a buy a case at a time purchase.

If they were the same price then I’d take the Bongran, but at 2 for 1 I’ll take this. Very similar, just a little lighter bodiedGreat way to end dry January early. — 3 months ago

It has been awhile since I’ve had this cuvée. It has darkened & gained infinitely in complexity. One of the very best White Burgundies values on the market. Anxiously awaiting the 2022s. Past vintages around $39.
Still has excellent viscosity & acidity. Very ripe to dried yellow & white stone fruits, ripe & dried apricots, marmalade jam, pineapple juice to dried pineapple, macerated lemons, touches of lime & green apple, tropical melons, saline, sea fossils, melted caramel, some toffee, toast, limestone, chalk, mixed nuts w/ skin-Brazil nuts lead that blend, yellows lilies & flowers, grand acidity as I already mentioned, with a lush, elegant, well balanced finish that lasts two-minutes and falls gently on minerality. — 9 months ago

The color of the 14 looks rich & starting to age Sauternes.
It is very viscous with notes of paraffin. Lots of dried fruits; apricots, juicy, overripe yellow peaches, blood orange with peel, marmalade fruits/jam, citrus blend, bruised Bosc pear, macerated, golden & red apple & dried pineapple, strong presence of gritty chalk & grey volcanic minerals, white spice, sea fossils, limestone marl, dry twig, sun tea with fruit, nuts with skin, some butterscotch & toffee, burnt raw sugar, honeycomb, warm caramel, vanillin, herbal notes, withering yellow lilies, orange Gerber daisies, grand, round acidity, great balance, still nice tension/structure, rich, smartly-elegant-polished finish without end and long sets on volcanics & spice. — 21 days ago
