Deze heilige Ribeira is een mooi zachte, mild exotische witte wijn. Zwak mineralig, peer, limoen, granny smith. Zachte zuren ondanks jonge leeftijd. Prima! — 5 years ago

Stellar Cinsault that paired wonderfully with duck at Rust en Vrede. — 8 years ago
Agree with the other comments, a really beautiful Rose reminiscent of a great Provance. — 9 years ago
Deep Ruby color with aromas of dark black fruits, smoky herb and woody pepper spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry and plum with cacao, burnt tobacco, vanilla and black pepper. Firm tannins, medium+ finish with fruit and spicy smoky oak ending. Will age a bit, 750 cases imported. — 4 months ago
Direct from Vineyard. Possibly the best bottle of white have had - complex, oaky but smooth, buttery and nutty notes, mineral crisp finish. Delightful. Love it. — 5 years ago
Very good. Full bodied with nice structure and balance. Smokey, meaty, earthy, with a hint of fruit. Flavorful but lacking umph. — 7 years ago
This was a pleasant surprise! Enjoyed the taste of 2016 vintage. — 7 years ago
Raclette night. Closed out the night with this decanted beauty. Plum and prune nose with cedar box and some forest floor notes. Still a lot of fruit and life, integrated soft tanins and great acid. — 7 years ago
Single block of Syrah aged 18 months in French oak and another 14 in bottle before release. Great aroma and full without causing pucker — 8 years ago
Very nice! — 8 years ago
Some wines knock you off your feet immediately, while others take time to do so. Storm Wines’ 2018 ‘Vrede’ Pinot Noir initially took a lot of examination, and changed dramatically between the hour’s decant I’d given it and the following 2-3 hours of drinking. At first, the very vibrant aromas of this young Pinot from South Africa’s esteemed Hemel-en-Arde valley were reminiscent of a pungent negroni, with a touch of Parma Violet and star anise. With time, however, these slightly confected qualities gave way to an impressive savoury bouquet of cranberry, rooibos, beef blood, iron and bitter orange (that Campari scent stuck around, and all the better for it). The palate, in this wine’s case, was even more impressive, continuing to display a savoury profile with a fabulous, zesty mouthfeel and supple tannins.
All in all, this is a beautifully fragrant, youthful PN with a bright future ahead. South Africa isn’t exactly known for its old vines (some Chenin aside), and those of Storm’s were only planted in 2008. Exciting things, then, for this winery. Everyone’s perception of value is different, but at £32/bottle here, it’s easy to recommend getting a case or two.
94+
PS. An added comment - I love the understated labels of Storm‘s wines, but I do wish they’d go back to the wax seal of previous vintages. Wax over foil every day of the week for me..! — 5 years ago
Storm bros.... both great — 7 years ago

@Delectable Wine this is the 2013 Silverthorn Wines Cape Winemakers Guild Big Dog IV Méthode Cap Classique.
Our first time every at the Cape Winemakers Guild Auction and we will make sure to come back! (Tasting was on 9/28/18).
Second wine at the Friday Auction Tasting for the Cape Winemakers Guild and last sparkling wine. This is a sparkling wine (Methode Cap Classique) made by John Loubser from the Western Cape. Light greenish yellow in appearance with tiny bubbles. Mute on the nose with a bit of lemon, light sweet spices, kiwi and limestone. Moderate acidity (7/10) and rich palate. Creamy mouthfeel with layers of spices, green apples, citrus fruits, white flowers and mouth watering minerality. Long and lingering finish.

The Syrah is prevalent. In a good way. Adds a purpley element that is charming. Soft tannins. Long finish — a month ago
