Enderle & Moll
Buntsandstein Pinot Noir
Baden, Germany

2009 vintage. Brought by and cracked with @Pinotman /// Andreas. Slightly plush with restrained berry tones. Harmonious and comfortable. Chilled down a spell and and flecks of earthiness appeared on the borders of the palate. Tasted immediately after opening, 15 mins, 45 minutes and 3 hours later. Picked up a 3-5 year old Côte-Rôtie flavor profile on the last sampling. Smoked meats, dirt, iron, slight plum reduction. This was phenomenal. Thank you, @Pinotman /// Andreas!

I think i will go ballistic! I have 3 bottles varieties of this - which includes a couple of self imported suitcase winery bottles!!! Hence the German label. And this one and last bottle is indeed special. Basically like an old school rough Burgh - how they used to be. Day one some plum, faint cherry, chalk, plenty of acid, quite tannic, lemon, dusty has 3-5 more years quite elegant with more air as it mellows out - awesome. Not some weird spice and therefore not a 10. Will add to this tomorrow…….

2nd vintage for them. Cork in better condition compared to the Muschelkalk. May be a different batch? Incredibly earthy. Quite tannic. More round and full compared to the Muschelkalk this might be the better wine of this vintage. Very dark. Cigar box. Faint cherry. Fruit mostly gone but not replaced with something else. Give it 1 to 12 hours of air. I will drink these up - please follow my advise! 17 years are the limit here. After this i will check in on the 2010‘s. Moving this year to a smaller place near by - so it makes sense to do a „tabula rasa“!!! Check on all of the older stuff.

Beautiful wine even better than the 09 Muschelkalk. Cigar box, bark, cherry, thyme, hint cardamom, black tea and bark. Needs food. Drink now with 30 min of decanting. At its peak. Continues to evolve under Argon (I build my own system at home) weeks later (an incredible wine).

Their second vintage. Big and young. Needs 5 hours to open up. I would recommend to cellar this for at least 5 - 10 more years. Mandarin zest - cedar - quite spicy - unreal complexity - Tulsi. It has a real bite despite just 12.5%. Without doubt one of the top 5 Pinot’s made in Germany that year another one made by the same guys is the Muschelkalk. If you pop a bottle open in the morning drink pm.

Feb 17th, 2019Layered and wildly complex. Wonderful high tone red fruits, bright red cherry, raspberry, red plum....really amazing herbaceousness plays off the fruit....all sorts of spice and earth came out over 3 hours. Hugely fresh and juicy even after some years in the bottle....these guys make some freaky cool wines...this one will age and developed for a LONG time yet.....one of those wines you keep going back to and with so much cut and freshness each new taste just sits your palette which is fantastic!
