Kir-Yianni Estate
The North Assyrtiko
Macedonia, Greece2024 vintage. Florina ( in the Northern part of Western Macedonia) is considered the coolest PGI in Greece, with mountainous vineyards at up to 700 m above sea level. Kir-Yianni demonstrates that the Assyrtiko grape can do well outside of Santorini. Juicy white fruit, with a hint of flowers and a distinctive minerality. An attractive, crisp, appetising white with a lovely saltiness in the finish. An excellent aperitif, but also a perfect match for seafood. Abv. 13,5%.

Jun 22nd, 2026Very pale white color. Aroma is quite slate-y/flint-y evoking a better balanced sauv blanc for Marlborough. Loads of floral notes and citrus blossom all finishing lemony. Fair bit more body than the aroma suggests. Like a very light chard slapped with all the aromatics of a sauv blanc. Nice refreshing acidic finished that cut through the heavy spice note of the chicken gyro and masterfully balanced with the tzaztiki.
