Truchard Vineyard Chardonnay

Nicely balanced and fresh with sliced apple, pear, melon, papaya, tangerine, and a brush of vanilla from 10 months in barrel (30% new). There’s a salty streak here that I didn’t expect. Not over the top. Entry level single vineyard from Far Niente.

Nickel & Nickel exclusively produces 100% varietal, single-vineyard wines that express the distinctive personality of each vineyard. Established in 1997 by the partners of Far Niente. Medium lemon color with aromas of tropical and stone fruit with citrus and toasty oak notes. On the palate flavors of apple, pear and peach, lemon zest, vanilla oak and wet stone notes. Nice balance with tangy acidity on long finish ending with fruit, oak and rich minerality. Classic, very nice!

Only ok. Rombauer chard is so much better

Jim didn’t like, but he doesn’t usually like chardonnays. Donna liked it but not $60 worth!!

Excellent. Savored. Would stock up. Might like this the best out of all.

A truly lovely Chardonnay - ripe & with certain (fruity) richness yet fresh & juicy, with zippy acidity perfectly balancing the breadth and the well integrated oak.
Yellow stone fruit, golden delicious apple with hints of brioche, short bread and salty caramel. Precise & with nice depth.
