Medium light Ruby with wide garnet ruby rim. This is quite reserved , cool and mineral on the nose , some pine notes with herbal , red cherry , cranberry hints , black tea . On the palate this has more red fruits , raspberry , red cherry, sweet wild strawberry , along with black tea , thyme and rosemary . Wet slate tinged finish . High acidity and fine but gritty tannins . Long and really detailed . Very young but will age effortlessly for another 20 years , perhaps more . Very promising . Served out of a magnum this is very young but already silky smooth and very approachable. Cherries, leather and very easy drinking!

Annata Biondi-Santi. This is absolutely delicious. Always special from this producer. Love the color. Classic Sangiovese. Orange rimmed next to the pale red. Balanced between some grippy but delicate tannins and approachable fruit. The nose has some spice and some earth but they don’t bring a kick so much as depth. The bottom line is you can tell it’s great because the wine drinks so fast!
