Enderle & Moll

Muschelkalk Pinot Noir 2021

This could be a 10 in a 2-3 years from now. Tasted this in the barrel at the winery and now in the bottle. Classic Muschelkalk and E&M. My 13th vintage. Unbelievably drinkable - addictive. Unspitable. Dark cherries, black currant jam, hint orange blossoms. In the glass potpourri of herbs wild black forest oregano driven, morello and dark cherries, crushed marble, hint licorice. Like most E&M wines a unicorn wine and unlike any you have ever tasted. I feel sorry for the Michelin Restaurants who do not have this on their wine list. — 3 years ago

Château Pape Clément

Pessac-Léognan Red Bordeaux Blend 2015

Deep ruby. Nose was a blast of dark berries. Very complex. Cassis, blackberry, sl earth, vanilla on the palate. Nice acidity. Very smooth with long finish. This is a really great Bordeaux from a 13th century vineyard. — 4 years ago

Château La Tour de Bessan

Margaux Red Bordeaux Blend 2018

2018 vintage. Marie Laure Lurton is one of the 10 children of Lucien Lurton and she owns Château Villegeorge (Haut-Médoc) and this Château La Tour de Bessan. Both are very good and refined. The 2018 La Tour de Bessan (named after 13th century tower on the estate that is being restaured) is a blend of 60 % Merlot, 29% Cabernet Sauvignon and a rather high (11%) percentage of Petit Verdot. Dark red. In the nose a mix of red and black fruit, cedar and Petit Verdot violet. Margaux is mostly associated with elegance and this is a good example. The fruit is bright, the tannins are well-tamed and the acidity provides juiciness and balance. Intelligent winemaking with just the right extraction. Great value at 18 euros. Abv. 14,5 % but perfectly integrated. Another lovely 2018. — 5 years ago

Cattier

1er Cru Brut Rosé Champagne

Champagne Cattier – Brut Rosé Premier Cru (N/V)
Montagne de Reims, Champagne – France 🇫🇷

Overview
Produced by the Cattier family (vinegrowers in Champagne since 1763, now in their 13th generation), this Premier Cru Brut Rosé blends 31% Chardonnay, 26% Meunier, 43% Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims. Crafted with precision, it highlights the house’s reputation for balance and finesse.

Aromas & Flavors
Delicate raspberry and wild strawberry notes, lifted by citrus zest and a whisper of brioche. Hints of red currant and rose petals add charm.

Mouthfeel
Crisp, creamy, and elegant with fine bubbles. The mousse is persistent yet delicate, and the finish is both refreshing and silky.

Food Pairings
Pairs beautifully with smoked salmon, tuna tartare, charcuterie, or fresh berry desserts. Also excellent as an aperitif.

Verdict
A well-made Premier Cru Champagne rosé that delivers finesse, freshness, and subtle complexity. A fine choice for those seeking elegance at a relatively approachable price point. 🥂cheers!

Did You Know? 📌
Cattier is also the family behind the ultra-prestige label Armand de Brignac (“Ace of Spades”), but their own Cattier-branded Champagnes often deliver outstanding value for their pedigree.

Bindi

Original Vineyard Pinot Noir 2015

Family home for Christmas so these are brief notes. Tawny notes to the colour when poured. Aromatic red fruits strawberry and cherry - light to medium weight palate. This Pinot was a cut above the normal even for a quality producer like Bindi. An undergrowth briary note which adds interest. We thoroughly enjoyed drinking this. I buy Bindi every year for good reasons. Enjoyed another bottle 43 weeks later on 13th October 2023. Barb really liked this. Aromatic notes - confectionery with bright red and black cherries. Seems much more fruit driven - little evidence of whole bunch in the ferment. Fine tannins. — 4 years ago

Delectable Wine

Bright yellow. Ripe orchard and tropical fruit aromas are complicated by suggestions of lemon pith and honey. Smooth and fleshy in style, showing good depth to the juicy pear nectar, pineapple and melon flavors. Tightens up slowly on a long, silky finish that echoes the honey note. Château Coutet

Sauternes-Barsac Sémillon Blend 2012

An English fortress built in the 13th Century, with its square tower, a design typical of the era, became a wine producing estate in 1643. From organically grown grapes, an estate that has never seen pesticides or artificial fertilizers (the previous owner was 104 years old when she died and never used them). Aromas of sweet rich stone fruits with citrus scents. On the palate peach and apricot flavors with orange nutty notes. Medium finish ending with a honey citrus character. Nice now.
