Love this easy drinking wine. Once it opens up, you can drink it right down! Only $21 at Indian Land liquor store. — 5 years ago
Needs a 15 minute decant. A bit simple on open. Then a hint of bitterness rounds out the delicious soft plummy fruit. Some spice. Great Tuesday night wine. It has the joyous fruit you want but good balance and some geekiness.
Some lilac liquor as this opens.
Ana amazing bottle of wine for the price
Ok. Maybe it needs 45 minutes. I can’t decide if this is a truly great wine that is a tad flawed or a unique wine that is just different t. Either way to even be having this conversation about $20ish wine is crazy. These guys are masterful winemakers.

1 hour decant(decent chunky sediment). A striking dark purplish magenta color. On the nose: mellow nose that hints at what's to come with black fruit liquor, pine needles, black olives, floral, smoke, potting soil. Taste: still big and bold with dark plum, dark currants, graphite, chocolate mocha, black pepper, and an earthy cherry infused medium plus finish. YUM!! more time to go, unfortunately my last bottle. — 9 months ago

11th Anniversary Dinner with Bernie and Jason — 3 years ago
Hot iron, iodine, olive tapenade, beef, creosote, curing salt, pink peppercorn, talcum, garrigue, scorched earth, granite, black raspberry liquor, grapefruit, crushed cherry, creme de cassis, rose petals. Ripe, full of flesh with sinew to back it up, found the balance quite remarkable here. The sun and warmth is felt in the generosity, but the tannins and acidity are well within reason. Granite and iron still at its core. — 5 years ago
Nose has blackberry liquor, mellow toasty oak, blueberry mash and light, ripe black cherry.
Palate has over-ripe blackberry, fresh black cherry, charred oak sawdust, dark chocolate powder, light anise and blueberry-black currant juice.
Tannins are mostly non-existent, perfect spot. WS had this pegged at a 2013-2018 drinking window, would have liked to try this a year ago, but we generally don't touch Zinfandel with less than 6-8+ years of bottle age, need mellowing time. Anyone holding this bottle, could do so easily until 2020-21. What a focused, sexy wine... — 7 years ago

Light with an oiky texture. Floral aromatics and palate with hints of fruit and a honeyed tones. Delicate yet palate coating. — 3 years ago
Huge ebullient nose of black and red cherries. Gorgeous spice, blackberry and licorice. Lovely Stoney minerality. So Volnay. Stunningly sweet fruit. Unreal purity and freshness and so so young. Sappy and dense but also light on its feet. Raspberry cake, raspberry coulis. Good extract, purity and freshness but as this is a barrel sample it’s maybe lost a little bit. Nose is showing huge minerality and earthiness. Palate is more engaging with air. It’s more precise and juicy. Very gamey. Nose is super sick now with air. Cherry liquor. Very fresh. Palate is elegant and fresh. This is a wine for laying down. So much potential. — 5 years ago
Excellent Larger crisp light and refreshing. Clean on the palate — 6 years ago

18.11.27 Fruity nose. Tropical fruit palate with some jasmine and plum blossom leading. Smooth and silky, with a little bite in the finish. 15% ABV. — 7 years ago

It’s a classic. I thought it got better as it chilled off. It was a bit syrupy and sweet at first. Cooled off it was delightful for me. Interesting as the other bottle was the opposite. — 12 days ago
