Desiderio Toscana Merlot 2015

John W
9.8

Beautiful deep ruby coloration. On the nose, cherry, plum, anise, cocoa, coffee, minerals, and warm spice. On the palate, cherry, tart berry, strawberry, vanilla, baking spices, minerals, turning to jammy fruit and a very long finish of the same flavors. Full body, with a rather rich mouthfeel. 2015 vintage with notable tannins still present. Revisited later with food and started getting notes of coffee and chocolate on the palate. Wonderfully full bodied and rich wine. — 9 days ago

Nobile Sangiovese 2020

Fist big Napa cab vibes then opened into a velvety soft beauty… with a bit of tannin kick.
Very enjoyable.
Wished I could remember where I picked this one up.

Grandi Annate Vino Nobile di Montepulciano 2015

2015 / silky, smooth, velvetty texture, combined with good acidity. Fruit was more on the background, but a good combination with pasta+black truffle — 9 months ago

Vino Nobile di Montepulciano La Stella 2017

Second bottle - tasting after the first bottle was tainted. Ruby coloration. With typical Sangiovese translucency. On the nose, cherry, strawberry, vanilla. On the palate, cherry, strawberry, rich and full bodied. Hints of balsamic, espresso and chocolate and a long layered finish with espresso and dark chocolate. Very long finish. — 3 years ago
