My first time drinking a white wine from Lopez De Heredia and it’s unlike any wine I’ve ever had before. Very fragrant and a lot of different tastes coming to the forefront. Bruised apple, quince, beeswax and honey. Some almond, slight oxidation and salinity like a fino sherry. This is a big and unusual wine. Not something I would drink daily, but enjoyed it as much on a taste as on an intellectual level. — 3 years ago

a perfect sip, a bit acidic on the finish, but no oak. — 8 months ago
Apple and pear on the nose and pallet also very minerally with a lil butter but not overdone as I hate butter bombs but a quality chardonnay here very drinkable — a year ago
Zippy, savory funny undertones. Very good! Had at Emily with pizza in NYC. — 7 months ago

Lighter appearance but big and bold flavors - ripe yellow apples, caramelized fruits, limes, vanilla and cream. Acidity/lime keeps it from going over the top with the ripeness and richness. Moderate amount of matchstick. Drinking well now but definitely has more time to enjoy. — 3 years ago
Sipping Fine Wine
1 of CA's oldest wineries, Far Niente, founded 1885 by John Benson. Winery flourished until Prohibition, when it was abandoned & fell into complete disrepair. Stately stone shell of a winery purchased in 1979 by Gil Nickel. A big wine! Tropical and stone fruit aromas with complex spice and oak notes. On the palate apple, peach and citrus flavors, creamy, with buttery toasty oak, fig/honey tones. Long finish ending with vibrant acidity & mineral character. Consistent. — a day ago
