Bought for the label but ended up loving it. Spicy, dry enough, good Boyd — 5 years ago
Deep ruby color with a nose of black cherry, vanilla, bay leaf, and fig. Nice, well-balanced mouthfeel, medium to full bodied with and excellent, well rounded finish of fruit, tannin, and acidity. Velvety tannins. Nice, long finish. — 7 years ago
Sean Boyd nailed this Mourvèdre! Smoke, tar, blackberry compote, and wildflowers with a touch of salty sea air. In fact, I just want to keep my nose in the glass! I expected something big, like a Bandol. This is certainly relatively full-bodied, but the fruit, lean tannins, and a touch of succulent acidity are harmonious. I suspect this will easily cellar another 7-9 years. Paired with duck breast and asparagus and wild mushrooms. — 8 years ago

Sammy Boyd wine. Delicious! — 7 years ago
This beautiful new Rose by the talented Sean Boyd shows intense strawberry, watermelon and guava puree that amalgamate on the nose. The palate shows a good combination of bright acidity and sweetened red fruits with citrus rind tones that round out this excellent new Rose. The long finish adds to the enjoyment. While this may come off a touch sweet for some, the overall presentation from its range to finish is pretty impressive. Drink 2019-2024- 90

$90. Better than Boyd Cantenac and Chateau d'armailhac. More dry than the Leoville Poyferre. Has a very strong potent finish. — 9 years ago
