Pur Avize Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs 2018

Stones and rocks on the nose to accompany ripe apple, pastry cream.
Rich, full and elegant. More open on tasting than nose suggested. A different giving creature on day 2.

Vif et droit, finale sûrette. A mis un peu de temps à s'ouvrir. Un peu austère. Tout de même bon. — 6 years ago

Brut Crémant d'Alsace Pinot Blanc

Fresh, toasty, strawberries. Fine bubbles and good acidity. Exactly what I want from a straightforward, delicious sparkling rosé. Bought from Martin Wine Cellar. — 6 years ago

Meursault Les Vireuils Chardonnay 2017

Pure pleasure. Laser acidity is the first thing you notice, followed by candied lemon, green pear, butterscotch and toasted hazelnuts. The zing factor might mellow with a few more years but I dig it now. — 6 years ago

Crémant d'Alsace Méthode Traditionnelle Brut Pinot Noir Rosé

The holidays put us in the mood for something delicious, vibrant, and festive. Something bubbly. Tonight, to match the mood, we’re popping this gorgeous pale pink-salmon Crémant d’Alsace produced by Domaine Camille Braun.

It is a rosé from Alsace made with 100% Pinot Noir, the only permitted black grape variety in this region. It comes from organic and biodynamic vineyards in and around the Village of Orschwihr.

Domaine Camille Braun is a family-run operation with roots dating back to the 1500s. Today Christophe and Chantal – a husband and wife team – are carrying forward the family legacy by making expressive wines from the beautiful terroir of Alsace.

This wine offers bright notes of raspberry, cranberry, red apple, lemon curd, dried pink rose, toasted almond, brioche, and wet stones with fine-beaded, persistent bubbles.

Cheers to delicious wines for the holidays!

Millésimé Brut Bouzy Grand Cru Champagne Blend 2009

Wonderful ‘09 from Camille Saves. Just the right amount of dosage. Just now rating. Drank very well celebrating the final end to the election; not one way or the other as much as the end of the process... — 6 years ago

Cuvée Rosé Bouzy Grand Cru Brut Champagne

Nose has plum peel, ripe crushed raspberry, dehydrated strawberry, cold hotel biscuits, fresh almonds and distant dried grapefruit rind.

Palate has dried raspberries, ripe red currant, dried tangerine, dried strawberries and moist chalk with medium finish.

We have all sorts of odd bottles in our cellar, many single, experimental iterations such a this. Not in the least disappointed for this showing today.

Les Belles Voyes Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Brut Champagne Chardonnay 2012

Single vineyard "Les Belles Voyes" in the famous Grand Cru hillside of Oger. Pale lemon with fine creamy mousse and tiny rapid bubble flow, long lees aging. aromas stone fruits and blossom, bread dough and citrus. On the palate flavors of golden apple, peach, lemon citrus and honeysuckle with biscuit toast and nutty notes. Long finish, full-body ending with biscuit, mineral and citrus character. Outstanding! — 5 years ago
