When in Argentina drink…..rose? Syrah based rose from the extreme North of Argentina, in Juyjuy, just south of Bolivia & Paraguay. At 15.1% abv a “ light” red. Fresh cut wild strawberries soaked in rum, & sure, runs a bit hot but who’s counting when drinking rose in BA. Apparently some young, brave guns making wine this far north & it’s delicious. Drinking a 2010 vintage in December 2019 and this wine is still drinking quite well and it could be argued that it’s at or near it’s peak. Excellent nose, beautiful color and lasting finish. Pairs well with red meats, stews, soups, cheeses and breads. Also roasted pork dishes that are more flavorful. Glad I bought a case and cellared it for several years. — 7 years ago
