2020 was the last vintage produced under Groupama ownership, as the estate was sold in April 2021 to Gerald Jicquel (the Beautiful Life Group , that also owns Fourcas-Dupré). While it is an attractive, smooth Haut-Médoc, it lacks a bit of concentration, especially if compared to some of its peers in this great vintage ( like the Barreyres 2020 I've tasted yesterday). 2015 vintage. Fully mature with spices and a hint of truffle. The tannins have smoothened out, and there is good balance and length. — 6 months ago

Cru Bourgeois Supérieur Haut-Médoc Red Bordeaux Blend 2022
2022 vintage. This large estate is co-owned by Castel and Suntory (the group also owns Beychevelle), and this 2022 represents great value for money. 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, and 5% Petit Verdot. Compared to the Castel-owned Barreyres tasted alongside, Beaumont features a more black fruit personality,with more concentration and complexity,for only 1 euro more. Terrific value. — 2 years ago

2021 vintage. Le C de Calon Ségur is the third wine. Good, but somewhat pretentiously priced ( at the price level of Cantemerle), and suffering from the comparison with Château d'Arcins and Château Barreyres 2022 at half the price. Abv. 13%. Also, I'd rather pay 10 euro more for the Marquis de Calon. — 9 days ago
