A fascinating blend of Walla Walla Valley Syrah and Dundee Hills Pinot Noir, aged 18 months in 60% new French oak.
The nose opens with a subtle but distinct barnyard funk of leather, cured meat, and earthy spice layered over dried cherry and blackberry. The palate is cleaner and more composed, showing plum, cranberry, fig, and cedar. Silky tannins and lifted acidity carry a lingering savory finish.

Deep ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.
Strong nose of black currants, plums, oak, dark chocolates, earth, tobacco leaf, herbs, eucalyptus, light vegetables and black pepper.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with black currants, black plums, cooked cherries, spices, chocolates, oak, licorice, light cola, vegetables and peppercorn.
Medium finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This 8 year old Malbec based blend from the house of Cheval Blanc is starting to drink very nicely now. Feels like a Right Bank Bordeaux.
Soft, smooth and elegant. Rich and fruit forward. Nicely balanced with a nice mouthfeel. Complex and interesting.
Needed 90 minutes in the decanter to open up properly, and will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years. Would be nice to revisit it in 5 years.

49 cab 48 Malbec 3 petit Verdot. Aromas a bit fleshy perhaps. Generous length, finish, med+ tannins, med+ body; black fruit, cedar. — 15 days ago
Light garnet color with a small ruby core. Aromas of wet soil, red berries and dried rose petals. Flavors of raspberries, red currants, mushrooms and savory spices. Long lasting finish. Gripping acidity with very silky tannins. Light bodied and quite savory but still full of finesse. Needs a bit of aeration to fully open up. Solid value and nice mid-week option. Thanks for the bottle, Kase. — 3 months ago
Nose - lilacs, soil, clay amphora and erasers! (Haha) Flavors - cranberry and tart blueberries. Mouthfeel - a bit sharp and acidic with a semi dry finish some tannins but not too much. Look - gorgeous garnet color. Food - went sooo very well with the lamb my hubs made. — a month ago
