Bit of Brett. Just the slightest tannin. Nice. — 6 years ago

Lovely! Deep, Lucious — 3 months ago
2019 vintage. Previous owner Alain Mouiex (also Château Fonroque) sold this tiny (less than 3 hectares) estate to the owners of Château Sansonnet, Cadet Soutard, Villemaurine and Harmonie in 2015, the Lefévère family. Tasting this excellent 2019, it seems that Marie-Bénédicte Lefévère is doing a great job here. Made from 100% Merlot, it is lush and restrained at the same time. Ripe, layered fruit, fresh acidity, and a distinctive minerality make the 14,5% alcohol go unnoticed. Excellent value too, highly recommended. — 2 years ago

2018 vintage. A more flashy, extracted style compared to stable mates Villemaurine and Sansonnet, but very well done. — 2 years ago
Last evening we opened the 2018 Château Soutard-Cadet. A Right Bank Bordeaux from Saint-Emilion. Bottled at Château Sansonnet a blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc.
On the nose there is juicy dark black fruit black cherry, blackberry, black plum, blueberry, vanilla, allspice, violets and wet damp earth.
On the palate there is black cherry, blackberry, black plum, cassis, camphor, cedar, sandalwood, chocolate and rich dark earth.
This is a full bodied wine with a smooth velvety mouthfeel medium +acidity and racy medium+ tannins with some grip that moves nicely into a long rich dark fruit and woodsy finish. The weekend looks to be cold here and we will, I am sure, have some more red wines. Have a great weekend and please stay safe and healthy. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 4 years ago

@Dave ‘s recent experience with a cheap Saint-Emilion prompted me to pop one tonight. Had one of these about 9 months ago. I think this bottle’s a little better. Or maybe I’m not as critical tonight. Regardless, it’s damn nice. Loads of pure, bright, ripe berry fruit in the nose, with a little clay-like earthiness. So soft in the mouth. Just delicious. Loads of fruit up front and a nice cling of savory flavors in the fairly long finish. Great balance and texture, nicely concentrated. — 4 days ago
