Cru Bourgeois St. Estèphe Red Bordeaux Blend 2020

No notes, just nosing again. Tar, black currant, oak, a bit of meat juice. Very meaty, yet with a nice underlying black fruit note and a great acid drive. Very well made and great balance. — a month ago

Château Tour St. Bonnet

Médoc Red Bordeaux Blend 2016

2016 Left Bank kicks ass at all price points. This is a bargain bottle that I feel deserves more love than the 8.5 average rating on this app. I give it an unapologetic 9. I popped and poured a glass (saving the rest for some mostaccioli later tonight), and it is behaving like a high-quality Medoc. A little tight but juicy, with pleasant fruit, slate, apple skins, and vibrant acidity. Appropriately tannic and a lovely finish. At $16, I would easily recommend this to a newbie or a seasoned veteran. It can handle 5 more years.

Nose: muted after a bit. Intense on pop and pour.

Palate: dark fruit. Chocolate. Heat? Clunky.

Château La Tour du Pin Figeac (Moueix)

St. Emilion Red Bordeaux Blend 1998

Truncated dinner party notes. Surprised this was still kicking as vigorously as it is. Yes, still red fruit, but with secondary and tertiary notes adding so much complexity. Delicious. — 9 months ago
