Dark ruby color. A wine I haven’t had. Apparently a combo of Grenache and Cabernet. Strong strawberry nose. A nice palate of dark cherry strawberry tobacco. Complex long finish. — 4 years ago
Golden thick-legged well-balanced chard with characteristic nose and palate, both including apple, pear, nectarine, and lemon with hints of butter and cream on a medium finish. Good way to get familiar with the varietal. Probably would go well with meaty white fish or mild tasting veg in a sauce of light butter or olive oil. — 5 years ago

Gros Frère et Sœur Richebourg 2014
This is my second time trying a Richebourg from the Gros family-previously, I’d tasted one from AF (Anne-Françoise Gros), and the first Frère et Sœur was a 2020 brought to a blind tasting. None of my friends guessed it correctly!
The 2020 showed ultra-fine tannins, bursting with floral aromas (violets and roses) after just an hour, and the perfume lingered for over four hours. If not for the blind bag, many would’ve mistaken it for a rising-star winemaker’s work.It had layers of plum, cherry, and a hint of Indian spices, with a subtle mineral note—something I didn’t find in this 2014.
Now, the 2014:
- Upon opening: Notes of cooked meat and blackcurrant (I wondered if temperature fluctuations during storage had affected it).
- After 2 hours of decanting: Secondary and tertiary aromas emerged—cinnamon, smoke, cedar, and cigar box, with only faint fruitiness. A stark contrast to the floral-dominated 2020, which I personally preferred.
I re-corked it and waited until dinner. At the 4-hour mark:
- The tannins turned silky-smooth.
- Flavors of red fruit, black pepper, and a touch of umami (mushroom and savory notes).
- Acidity:Well-balanced. The wine was cleanly made, though the aromatics faded slightly by then.
Overall, a very solid bottle, but next time, I’d love to compare it with a 1990s vintage to see how it ages! — a year ago
Aroma with bread, slight citrus. A bit sweet, peach etc. Domaine Anne Gros La Fun en Bulles Brut Cremant de Bourgogne @1200, domaine, 221203 — 4 years ago
Lovely cherry notes. 2017 at brindille — 5 years ago
Brambly black fruit - fresh, crushed, juicy - with a big pinch of pepper. Add to this a bit of violets and some crushed rock - this is not a shy wine.
Poised & balanced on the palate with juicy acidity, fine tannins and a sense of place. Quite elegant, too.
Shows Cinsault stand-alone can make a really nice wine. — 6 years ago
I couldn’t find much about Mathias besides that he was born in 1990. His mom A-F Gros makes amazing wines so does his father F Parent. Mathias’s wine on the Bourgogne level seems full-bodied with chewy texture on the palate as approachable as any young Pommard wine. I’m really floored with the design of the label and quality of the wine and I see a great future in this producer. Cork still says A-F Gros but probably not for much longer. — 9 years ago
Iiked it a lot. Well rounded. Medium tannins. Fruity. Heady. I'd decant it before. Recommend by sansula guy. — a year ago

Excellent Beauj! Light ruby color. Bountiful nose of red berries, black pepper and freshly turned soil. Flavors of cranberry and sour cherries with notes of graphite and baking spices. Lots of acidity. Velvety texture and pleasantly tart. Best with food. Nice choice, Kase! — 4 years ago
