5th wine . medium deep ruby , touch more garnet . Slightly wider rim . Quite cool and mineral again , more grafite with some cool cassis , blackberry. On the palate this is slightly lighter in body , leaner perhaps but very elegant , fresh and quite saline, tobacco , grafite and herbal tinges on the finish . Reasonable saline length. Fine lightly grippy tannins , good acidity . This is showing quite well though would perhaps benefit from a few more years . Better in 3-5 years and drink well a further 7- 10 . The next day this actually shows a little better , elegant and refined, nothing showy , very Lafite , so I’m glad I guessed this correctly ! Overall this was a very interesting tasting , there is nothing showy or remarkable about the 2006 1st growths , they are quite classic and also showing quite a lot of structure still , with good freshness though they perhaps lack a little stuffing and intensity . They were quite even quality wise, with the high points being the Mouton (though the Lafite improved the following day to upgrade its score and draw level ) and the low point being a relatively disappointing Margaux . The vintage will continue to improve over the next 5 perhaps 10 years in general , though they may always just lack a little density and excitement . — 3 months ago

Reminds me a bit of a Chablis. Accompanied our risotto perfectly! — 4 years ago
2015 vintage, drank 17 July 2021.
Dark red, slightly brownish on the rim. Soft oak and spices on the nose. Velvety vanilla and berries on the mouth. — 5 years ago
Our anniversary year! Found a low fill and we had it with filet . Still a fine bottle of wine with amber on the edge but plenty of mature fruit and the signature oak. Top shoulder fill and that is why we drank it. Much sediment but decanting saw a pure Bordeaux with complexity and mouth coating flavor. A treat to consume.😄🍷🍷🍷 — 6 years ago
1986 vintage, 40 year old wine on our 40th Anniversary — a month ago

Clear, medium ruby to garnet in color; on the nose, it's clean with pronounced intensity primary and secondary aromas of black cherries, cassis, and graphite; on the palate, it's dry with high acidity, high tannins, medium alcohol, medium body, and intense primary and secondary flavors of blackberries, black cardamom, and wet gravel with a medium finish. This wine is simple, but balanced. Overall, I rate this wine as good. — 3 months ago
Vintage 2010 | last year our Brabantse Wine Society wine friends @Eric Hoepelman @Willem Jan Withagen @Rob van Kalmthout @Martijn went to the worldchampionship blindtasting and visited Mouton R. This year they are so kind to share experiences with @Berry Marinussen @Liselotte Brouwers Maarten Drop and myself who will attend this year in Jura. This was one of the beautiful wines in the line up — 10 months ago
Green apple, pineapple, minerality and a lovely waxiness. It's clean with a sweet acidity and notes of stone fruit. Really delicate and something I'd happily drink again and again! — 5 years ago
Dusty cherries, plum, smoke and cellar notes evolve to aromas of balsamic, tobacco and anise. Touches of rose pedal and tar as well. Tart cherry pie fruit with plum, strawberry and cranberry on the palate. Chalk and rusty nail add depth. Finishes with elegance and shining acidity. Tannins are not undersold, however. In a beautiful place now, but no rush. Really enjoyed the evolution in the glass. Pair with cedar smoked salmon or truffle pasta. — 7 years ago
Excellent! It took very little time to breathe which was unexpected for a 2011. We will be buying more of this if we can find it. — 2 years ago

A touch dusty on the nose with gnarly dark fruit and some spices and wood notes. Soft on the palate and fully resolved. Pretty and lightly inky — 22 days ago
