Les Caillerets Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Chardonnay 2022

2022 vintage. Light medium/medium body. Floral and vanillin nose. Some oak but what was there was spicy/zesty. Good mineral backing. Really coming into focus. Maybe slight improvement within 1.5-2 years but showing nicely now. 4.11.26. — 2 months ago

Santenay Hates Blanc 2014

2022/5/14 with poached pork tenderloin, etc. There’s a gentle creaminess developing alongside the lemon tart and smokier notes. On the palate, there’s good acid to start, along with a savory, salty character - the impression shifts more alkaline towards the finish. Oak is present but soft. — 4 years ago

Morgeot Vieilles Vignes Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Chardonnay 2014

Very polished. Almost oily. Light and bright. Lifted and shiny. Good, but a little abrupt and tinny compared to the Marc Morey alongside. — 7 years ago

You know the scene in Frozen where Kristoff says he’s going to cry when he first sees Elsa’s ice palace? That’s exactly how I feel about this wine. — 10 months ago

Les Vieilles Vignes Morey-Saint-Denis Pinot Noir 2020

2020 vintage. Will get better but as a pop n’ pour now, showing very nicely. Body, concentration, elegance and balance all on display already. Delicious. 9.19.23. — 3 years ago

Les Hâtes Santenay Pinot Noir 2018

Domaine Vincent & Sophie Morey Santenay Les Hates shows a Ruby color with aromas of ripe dark fruits and smoky notes. On the palate flavors of blackberry and currants with tobacco and spice. Fine dusty tannins, long finish ending with fruit, tobacco and sweet spice. Drinking well now, will improve. Small case import. — 4 years ago

Mineral rich, much more concentrated than average 2016. Not as resonant as Arnaud Ente or Fichet and not as transparent as Colin-Morey and Roulot, but more dynamic than most other Chassagne producers. It still does not fly effortlessly the way best wines do and bit on the conservative side. — 7 years ago
