2002 vintage. Decanted and tasted over the course of two hours. Great fill. Excellent cork. Heavy body. Initially, just oodles of richness (still!) but after 30 minutes, began to fill in structural details on the back end dossier. First impressions, a 9.3 so things definitely improved. Tasted more like a 2016 or newer vintage-very fresh. Nicely made and seems to be effortlessly gliding along currently. Feel it needs another 4-5 years to kick in the door to "the zone" but in the adjacent zip code currently. Still on the ascent to the top of the bell curve. Be patient. 12.8.23. — 3 years ago
This was a +$100 bottle we had after tasting 4 bottles at collective cost of $36.47 at last night’s blind tasting. Call this like something from the Drops of God.
Extremely wonderful, if not as good as I have ever had…. — 3 years ago
If you aren’t digging into the contemporary jazz scene in London right now, you are missing out on some of the best music being produced. This is from Ezra Collective and wears strong influence from both Afro-Beat music and spiritual jazz. Chardonnay from Woodward Canyon is positively hypnotic with a little air. Perfect balance of fresh acid & powerful fruit. A great Sunday evening. — 7 years ago

Olaszrizling is no relation to German Riesling; this wine is orange and has Gewurtz-like spice with good acid and floral notes. — 7 years ago

Antics Terra Collective Tasting. A classic pinot noir. A shy and elegant wine. Strawberry, wood, wispy, light, juicy. — 3 years ago
2015 vintage. Last tasted 7.28.21 and 6.1.21. Smoke, coriander, roasted nuts and dark cherry still wafting throughout the nose but it’s picked up a leather/cedar habit to add to the dossier. Consistently medium-bodied altho starting to transition ever so slightly to light medium body. Baby fat almost completely gonzo. Finish maintaining balanced fruit/acidity and keeping a 30+ second wave goodbye. Cocoa powder that was dancing circles around the endgame palate six weeks ago is on vacation. — 5 years ago
This 2013 blew our collective minds! Old vines, unique terroir of the Dundee Hills AVA. Perfect balance with vibrancy; earth, fruit, and tannin come together and honor the great legacy of a master sorely missed, rest her soul, Patty Greene! Now this is tremendous example of the heights an Oregon Pinot can reach!! — 7 years ago
Have held this for a couple of years and decided it was time to open this Similkameen blend. It has a beautiful velvety colour. Smells of fresh dark wild berries and plums. Taste here is a winner. Combination of dark and red fruits and berries, but dark plums, black currant, raspberries are the dominant notes. It’s very smooth, with a very a subtle but noticeable pepper acidity that is well integrated. Very small hints of leather and musk. Overall, it’s a velvety, deeply well integrated and smooth wine. — 8 years ago

My first experience with the wines of the late Philippe Engel and what better occasion than our humble take on La Paulée. I’ve heard that bottle variation can be a thing with these wines so we held our collective breath when opening. However, our concerns were unfounded as this bottle was not only sound, but beautiful.
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a couple hours. The 2001 Clos Vougeot pours a pale ruby color with a translucent core; medium viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with perfumed notes of ripe and slightly dried strawberry, raspberry, dried flowers, licorice, sous bois, truffle, dried herbs, and a mix of cool and gentle warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and the texture is silky. A profoundly soulful wine and one that will live long in my memory. Drink now through 2041. — 2 months ago
