Kelvedon Estate

Pinot Noir 2016

Drank 18.03.26 w/ Andie Ngan - 2016 vintage (MV6) Kelvedon Estate (5300 hectare property on Tas East Coast, established by Francis Cotton in 1830, temperate maritime climate close to sea) - bought for $50 on 04.04.21 from The Farm Shed, Bicheno Tasmania, recommend cellar 5-10 years. Extremely tasty very smooth and well rounded balanced bodied Pinot Noir where every mouthful was a delight to drink. Goes down very smooth and easy. Cherry front and currants at end with a touch of minerals. Def a higher end range a step above the usual table wine — 2 months ago

Jai Alai India Pale Ale

One of finest mass produced “ craft “ beers on the east coast.
Wonderful bitterness on a hot day.
Some sugar shack residual sweetness.
Really packs a resinous punch.

Junius Lindsay Vineyard

Reserve Syrah 2016

In our binary world- this is a feminine format. Pinot weight and body with East Coast fruit expression. Nice aromatics couple with punchy acidic flow. The type of plummy acid that make the mouthfeel “float” with a grace more impactful than the actual fruit. Compelling, especially with the right cuisine ;) 1 bottle remains - target 2026? 91 pt because it’s NC and relatively weighted — 5 years ago

La Follette

Sun Chase Vineyard Chardonnay 2017

Winery notes, Sun Chase Vineyard is planted on the west-facing hillside where the cool Petaluma Gap collides with Sonoma Mountain, this site overlooks a broad sweep of the county from the San Pablo Bay to north Santa Rosa. Our Chardonnay block with an east-west row aspect sits on a sun-drenched, rocky incline at 1000' where fruit yields are naturally limited with small clusters and aromatic fruit. Technical Notes: 76 clone, Whole-cluster pressing, 100% native yeast primary fermentation, 100% wild malolactic fermentation, 11 months in low toast, air-dry 3-year-old French oak, 25% new."
My notes , Aubert style without Aubert price.

Yes, @Paul T- Huntington Beach can be relied upon for good insights. To be honest, you told me where to buy, I saw Paul’s score, and I was on it. I always try to avoid shipping costs, hence I purchased 4. I like that quantity when you’ve never tried the wine before. It just seems most relevant. Thanks again, @Deborah M 😋

Cambria Estate Winery

Julia's Vineyard Pinot Noir 2021

Cambria Estate Winery — Julia’s Vineyard Pinot Noir 2021 — Santa Maria Valley, Santa Barbara County, California. United States 🇺🇸

Overview:
An estate-grown Pinot Noir crafted entirely from estate fruit at Cambria’s Julia’s Vineyard, delivering a fresh, approachable expression of cool-climate California Pinot with bright fruit purity and everyday elegance.

Aromas & Flavors:
Red plum, strawberry, cranberry, cherry compote, hints of sage, lavender, rose petal, and light leather.

Mouthfeel:
Medium-bodied with smooth tannins, lively acidity, and gentle spice through the finish. Bright red fruit keeps the palate energetic and easy-drinking while maintaining enough structure to feel polished.

Food Pairings:
Roast chicken, salmon, mushroom pasta, grilled vegetables, pizza with prosciutto or mushrooms, soft cheeses.

Personal Pick:
This is my kind of reliable weeknight Pinot — easy to love, versatile at the table, and always satisfying without demanding too much attention. A bottle I happily keep in regular rotation.

Verdict:
A charming, estate-driven Pinot Noir offering freshness, balance, and excellent everyday value. Perfect for casual dinners and relaxed enjoyment.

🍷 Did You Know?:
Santa Maria Valley’s east–west orientation funnels cool Pacific winds deep into the valley, extending hang time and preserving natural acidity — a key reason the region excels with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

Zephaniah Farm Vineyard

Adeline White Blend 2017

This is my second review of this build from the fantastic 2017 vintage… 46% Muscat Ottonel provides sturdy viscosity while 22% vermintino + 16% Viognier + 16% petit manseng energizes the acid and structure. Altogether elegant while the acid from 2 1/2 years of bottle aging is weaning a bit… It provided beautiful lime sweetness and verve when paired with our caprice salad on baguette. Opulent floral nose and elevated mouth feel make for a very distinguished build… On par with some of the finest Rieslings on the East Coast for reference. — 6 years ago

Hirsch Vineyards

East Ridge Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2022

One of Hirsch’s more rugged bottlings, being on the east ridge. Opened way to early. So much acidity and freshness overwhelmed the darker fruits you could tell sat beneath. Lots of promise. Will wait on the next one. — 8 months ago
