From magnum to share w a generous neighbor's smoked brisket. This wine shows Eduardo Garcia as a young wine making genius. Great quality raw materials, careful winemaking and a result that was sublime. In this wine Eduardo's education in Bordeaux can be tasted. Mineral, stony, savory, plum, confit dried fruits the list goes on, though, even in magnum, the wine doesn't. — 5 years ago
The 2020 Nerello Mascalese Pirrera is delicate and coy in the glass, showing just nuances of rose and black cherry contrasted by dusty earth. Silky and refined, it washes across the palate with a pure blend of red and wild blueberry fruit. A mineral staining adds tension toward the close. It finishes structured and long with a citrus concentration to balance as tart raspberry and sage slowly taper off. Patience will be required to tame this structured Etna Rosso. My last bottle of this beauty (123/1000 in NYC). I gifted the others to friends :) Richly sumptuous as I remembered - deep dark fruits, vanilla and dry earthiness. Full and delicious. With a quick orecchiette in prosciutto, shallots, peppers, parmesan and lemon. — a year ago
Very bold style of Nerello! Great fruit, nice floral component, light tannin. This will only get better with some time in bottle. — 3 years ago

There is some evident oak up front in this Cuvée Felix, lots of fresh, clean red-fruited Grenache which is less ripe than the 2015 CdP opened with this, some mineral and floral notes as well, very good balancing acidity which keeps the wine youthful (it really seems like a 10-year-old CdP), I’d say it will improve for 5 years and easily last 10 more years, but the long, lively finish means it’s drinking very well tonight!! Purchased at the domaine in early 2007. — a month ago
