2020 Pietra marina - Etna Bianca superiore. Golden straw coloration. From Mila, birthplace of carricante, why it’s superiore. On the nose, citrus, herbaceous, salinity and minerality. On the palate, rich mouthfeel, citrus, herbs, salinity from the sea, and a finish of herbs (tarragon?) and minerals. Interesting- combo of Chablis and Chardonnay. Paired with mushroom and spring onion mayonnaise. — 2 months ago
Nicely concentrated Sicilian red, with muscular tannins backed by deep and dark fruit with somewhat sharp acidity. Reminds me of a young California Central Coast red blend. Nice pairing with red sauce pasta but probably better after four or five years of softening in the bottle. Had the 2023 vintage with Paccheri Lisci (spicy pork sausage sugo, fennel, sage, pecorino) from Jame Enoteca in El Segundo, CA. — 4 days ago

Etna Rosso a nerello mascalese + cappuccio blend. Tannins holding their grip on the fruits, you do get those hints of berry extracts but the ashy rocky terroir is definitely dominating the profile. — 5 years ago
Nice way going. But good and clear — a month ago
2022 Etna Rosso santo spirito: light dark soil, very loose and sandy. lighter cherry and fruitier nose, on the palate, cherry, heavy minerals. Strong tannins. Very popular wine. Very deep vines. — 2 months ago
Norman
I have been wanting to try this for years and finally got access to his wines without having to drive down to San Diego. Pushed K&L every so often and they finally delivered. This was way better than I expected. I heard he is using sulfur so it’s not as “natural” as before but way more stable. Flavors were light and food friendly. Hint of vinegar to be on the nose but not on the palate. Crowd pleaser. Listening to Action Bronson who alerted me to this wine on That’s Delicious. Bring it back! — 17 days ago
