Goes really well with sesame chicken and noodles. Would probably go well with many chicken dishes. Light, not tannic/acidic. — 5 years ago
Slight grassiness but a lot more melon and honey character. Felt more like a french Pinot Gris, but was much welcomed. So easy to drink on its own, but paired nicely with light vegetarian food as well. — 6 years ago

— 6 months ago

The 2016 Barbaresco is fabulous. Rich, ample and inviting, with terrific depth, the 2016 opens up beautifully in the glass. Sweet cherry, licorice, mint, rose petal, spice and new leather flesh out effortlessly. More than anything, though, I admire the wine's persistence and overall balance. The 2016 is the finest Barbaresco I have tasted yet from Francesco Versio. This is such a pretty wine. Compared with previous vintages, the 2016 offers more finesse and a more transparent expression of Nebbiolo than I have seen in the past. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, November 2019) — 7 years ago
Another straggler that aged better than expected. Medium bodied with red fruity notes still present balanced by earthy acidic palate — 4 months ago
2021 vintage at Tratoria with Italian. Yum! 10/23/25 — 8 months ago
Better than it was just a few months ago, which was right after bottling. Crushed raspberry and steel. Good acidity, low tannin but still substantial. Perfect burger wine! Chicken cordon bleu too! — 4 years ago

Very light tasting wine, local grapes, extremely good and long finish. Deep bright scent, such a lasting flavour. Lots of deep legs around glass — 5 years ago

I’ve had a lot of grappa over the years and they’ve been fun, in a rustic way, but few have ever really impressed me. This one did. It was more complex, layered and about as smooth as any I have tried. Drink now or whenever. — a month ago
