This is just a regular IPA I think. Cool label. Bears and boat oars in dark color motif. Very nice color. Flavors are pretty floral and classic. Smooth too. Not an extreme ipa. Just a nice drinking English styled beer. — 4 years ago
Drank the 2019 i. Hood River with a friend. it was tasty. Balanced, lovely mouth feel without high alcohol or syrup. I would buy it again at $32 as treat! — 4 years ago
Absolutely stunning! Transcendent bottle that started wild and evolved over an hour. Opened up beautifully to a very Morey-St-Denis like cuvée. Crisp ruby color. Low viscosity and light bodied. Red cherries, raspberries, wild strawberries, wet forest floor and spicy aromas. My guess is there is some whole cluster fermentation here. Gorgeous nose. Tannic backbone. Medium high acidity. Fluttery mouthfeel. Complex wine that’s beautifully integrated. Extremely long acidic finish. Possibly one of the better and most interesting Oregon Pinots. Interesting to note this is a 15% Pinot Gris blend. Biodynamically farmed on a vineyard with a southern facing slope along side Hood river. No additives, nothing removed..naturally made. And of course Nate’s a legend!! Day 1. Will update for day 2..can’t wait to see this cuvée continue to evolve! It was hard to stop myself and it would be so easy to quaff the whole bottle in a few hours :) — 5 years ago

One of the best wines I've had — 10 years ago
Didn’t like this one as much as the first I had. This was more fruit forward with a ton of funk and acidity. After a few hours it was better but given the high amount of acidity and fruit I’m not sure it’ll get better. Reminds me of a good carbonic Grenache or other rhone varietal. Some olives in there as well. It’s good. — 10 months ago
Like nothing I’ve ever had. Great nose of flowers, white pepper, honeysuckle, a touch of melon. Palate is such a great balance of acidity and flavor. Evolves as it opens. Way too easy to drink and went great with a simple chicken dinner. I get some great herbs and honey. So good. — 5 years ago
Hood River — 6 years ago
Reddish pink with orangish tinge, excellent clarity. White pepper and floral notes in nose, later some tutti frutti emerges. Strawberry, citrus pith and white pepper flavors, dry, mineral with white pepper and cherry finish with length - tangy. Tutti frutti flavor emerges after 90 minutes. Dry, good acidity, fruity, some complexity, solid varietal expression. Boo yah! A superior summertime rosé. — 7 years ago
Young but going to be great. Hood for at least six years. — 9 years ago
Nice, light, crisp. Perfect for pre dinner (or while cooking dinner). — 10 years ago
Nice notes on the nose, definitely appreciating Napa, with a little bite on the front end. Smooth and just enough juice on the back end. Might make a hood home cooking wine. . — 2 years ago
Amazing!!! So funny that this is described as hedonistic by hiyu. Just beautiful Grenache fruit. Nose of berries, mushroom, white pepper, but if game kind of like roast duck with a cherry compote. Palate is is just perfectly balanced with bright red fruits, cranberry sauce on peppered turkey, so much earth and herbs as well. Evolves over the first 90 minutes. Guessing it would even more over the night but we’ll probably drink it all by the time we finish cooking dinner. So freaking good. One of the most approachable wines from hiyu. Definitely like a northern Rhône. — 3 years ago
Really great and light field blend. Love the coblend of red and white varietals. Really special. — 5 years ago
Really enjoyed this unique Pinot. Tart and a little earthy. Local from Hood River — 5 years ago
Bought from Hutu Wine Farm in Hood River. Amazing cider! — 6 years ago
I’m intrigued by Nate Ready’s Hiyu project from the Hood River region in Oregon. This is characterized as a field blend of white/red Burgundian grapes made as alpine style white wine. Really interesting, but difficult for me to get past the $95 price point. Nate’s related Smockshop Band label has some wines that are just as interesting in the $30-$55 range. Worth checking out if you want to unleash your inner wine geek. — 8 years ago

@Delectable Wine this is Cornus 2017, mencia, cab franc, abouriou, bran cellar grapes. The nose is bonkers. Forest, funkiness, smashed strawberries with the plant and earth. Mouthfeel is lovely. Light red fruits, strawberry, plum, cherry, cranberry, then earth, tannin, almost curry, then long lingering earth and bark and dried cranberry with rosemary at the finish. Needs two hours to open. Honestly not great at opening. What a wine! — 2 months ago
