Zwarte bessen, stevige body, klein zoetje in afdronk. Heerlijk met stoofvlees. — 5 years ago
Förtrollande färg. Honung, saffran, torkade kryddor, nektarin och lite kex. Angränsar halvtorr men nog den ganska låga syran som lurar än. Oavsett, väldigt gott. — 7 years ago
Since @India Okoh was slaying it in Constantia visiting Klein Constantia, Groot Constantia and Eagle’s Nest Wines, I decided to find some aged South African wine to drown my sorrows.
Bought this on a whim. How often do you get a chance to 27 year old South African Bordeaux blend? Unless you know somebody probably almost never. We got lucky and found this in a liquor store in Johannesburg for R170.00 it around $11.00.
No seepage and capsule intact. The cork was a little depressed and no ullage issues. Upon opening the cork completely fell apart with a light brown edge and medium garnet core. Woody nose with a touch of black cherries, mulberries, cedar and damp spices. Solid acidity making your mouth pucker with a light plus to medium bodied. Aged palate with leather, dried cherries, cedar, damp forest floor and a tad tart in the medium finish. Very impressive for a 27 year old. Drink now. — 8 years ago

Second of the Sauvignon Blancs at Klein Constantia.
Light greenish yellow with floral, lemon grass and green notes on the nose. High acidity (7/10) with a medium body. Granny smith apples on the palate with some lemon zest. Medium plus finish with a slightly creamy mouthfeel. Drink till 2022.
Aged in stainless steel and on the lees for nine months. — 9 years ago
Droog met een kleine prikkeling en een klein zuurtje. Makkelijke wijn. — 10 months ago
On the nose I smell an herb that I cannot figure out. But when the smoke from the brai blows away from me I get kiwi. On the pallet lovely fruit and French oak. Gentle oak. Nice. — a year ago
Gree with Stefan, except for the length. $16 — 4 years ago
I really love this wine, and bought several bottles after a SA wine tasting. Unfortunately I didn’t keep good notes, but I remember it being easy drinking and a good pairing with food or alone. — 7 years ago

Last of the Sauvignon Blancs at Klein Constantia.
Light greenish yellow. Very fresh on the nose with white floral notes, a little nutty, lovely white and stone fruits as well as some gooseberries. Heavy acidity (7.5/10) and medium plus bodied. Layered palate with citrus notes as well as some other lighter fruits and balanced throughout. Long finish. Drink till 2023.
Aged in neutral oak for 9 months. — 9 years ago
We are staying in South Africa. Can you believe some of the oldest operating wineries are right there. Like Klein Constantia, founded in 1685. Yep, they made wine requested by Napoleon, praised by Dickens and Jane Austin so it says on the label. Unique, beautiful little spot right next to Cape Town where they grow the grapes and produce the wines. Want to experience a few more captivating wineries that produce exceptional wines in South Africa? Go to our website or YouTube channel for Spoken Wines. One of the outstanding wineries produces mesmerizing Bordeaux blends in ancient soils in the land called Paarl. Their roots go back to Napa and Opus One. Enjoy! Slight strawberry flavour, very sweet. Big fan. — 6 years ago
17/20 (92/100) Насыщенный аромат с тонами чернослива, сушёного инжира, фиников, чайной заварки и шоколада. Сладкое, тельное с умеренной кислотностью и мягкими танинами. #capewine2018 — 8 years ago

Great now and will age beautifully. Typical Muscat florals, but I love the balancing act of sugar concentration and acidity in this vintage. Elderflower and bruised stone fruit. Wonderfully fresh. 👌🏼 — 9 months ago
