Nice to taste this Santa Maria Valley bottling alongside the Sta. Rita Hills one. Riper, darker fruits profile but there is still freshness here. Oak is more prominent. Earthier as well with light mushroom and tea leaf notes. Plush palate.
This is a more complex and deeper wine. But I prefer the Sanford bottling slightly. — 3 years ago

A wonderful expression of spice, earth, smoke and brush in this medium-bodied, but intensely flavorful wine. Fruit plays a secondary role, with subtle flavors of raspberry and blueberry. — 6 years ago
Dark ruby color. Smell of ripe plum, spices. Crushed plum lead the palate, ripe berries jam with strong notion of pepper. It comes pretty hot at almost 16% and you can taste it. — 4 months ago
A beautiful pinot to celebrate my birthday!

We had the 2013 Vintage on 2/21-22/20. Bright red fruit on the bouquet. Tart cherry, strawberry and pomegranate on the palate. Bright and acidic. Good but not great. — 6 years ago
About as Burgundian as I’ve ever seen from Central Coast. Not surprised, Bien Nacido vineyard 🙌🏼 — 5 years ago
2016 syrah. Terrific. Ripe black fruit with a bite of red fruit. Great value for $40. — 6 years ago
