Day 2 notes. Nose of blueberry and blackberry, granite and graphite. Dark and rich but super mineral as well. Palate is energetic and fresh but also dark and rich with blackberry and blueberry galore. Young and disjointed as it was yesterday but it’s all there. Check back in 5 years — 3 years ago
MEL Natalie visit 4/10/22. Still got that wood austere feel but perhaps opened up more. — 4 years ago
Covid-19 wine time. So delicious we felt like we should have saved it for a more special occasion! — 6 years ago
So good. Lovely subtle oak spice with big blackberry coulis fruit and spices on the nose. Huge depth on the nose. You could swim in the layers. Palate is so ripe, so rich and so dense with dazzling purity and freshness. Wow. This is just incredible. So fresh yet so opulent and deep. That’s what the best 15’s have to offer. Spectacular. — 7 years ago
Quite light ruby garnet , wide garnet rim . A bit funky at first on the nose , touch farmyardy , then opens up to show some cherry , dried rose , touch earthy , herbal notes . On the palate this is again slightly funky , quite edgy acidity , touches of dried cherry , slightly gritty chalky notes . This needs time in the glass to show its best and does get better , but this might not be the best bottle . However , shows it mineral , herbal and dried cherry touches on the reasonable length finish . Drink now and over the next few years . At Restaurant Les Caudalies , Arbois — a month ago
I love this wine. One of the best St. Jo Blancs. Nose is expansive and ripe with exotic tropical fruits and lots of gras. Also granite and lime jelly and liquified lemon jelly. Sea air as well. So clean. Palate is so finesse driven with awesome texture and depth. Energy from granite but definetly not for acid heads. Rich, long finish with tropical fruits and granite. Needs air. — 3 years ago
Huge wine...Sharp, chalky with time it becomes very rich and nutty. Fascinating stuff! — 5 years ago

Enjoyed as a toast before we commenced our little version of La Paulée. This bottle of Emmanuel Brochet’s “Premier Cru” Extra Brut uses the 2020 vintage as a base with 20% of the blend coming from reserve wine. It is a blend of Pinot Noir, Meunier and Chardonnay.
Popped and poured, the wine pours a straw color with a persistent mousse. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of apple, raspberry, white peach, some white flowers, lemon citrus, lightly toasted brioche, almond and minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with high acid. Confirming the notes from the nose, the finish is long with lively minerality. Super tasty stuff. Drink now through 2035. Only 12,825 bottles were made. — 2 months ago

Lots of complex aromatics that became even more expressive as the bottle warmed up. Some oxidative notes mixed with bread and flowers. In the mouth this leans to the vinous side. Acid driven which allows it to be consumed through out the meal. Just a hint of bitterness on the finish — 3 years ago

Medium lemon yellow . Quite closed at first , this improves with air , actually was finished the following day . White flowers , camomile , quite chalky , a bit funky also . On the palate quite strict and direct , with quite sharp acidity , which does stick out a little bit . Quite lean on the palate On the palate there are notes of lemon , wet stone and white flowers . Quite good mineral , stony length . I can imagine this still ageing quite well , but it probably won’t improve very much . — a month ago
