Clos de la Maréchale Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Pinot Noir

Drink je droomwijnen diner@rijks. from magnum and very open and giving from the get go. Warm burgundy fruits, balanced with beautiful oak and a long finish. You cannot not like this wine. While this is ready it still has decade(s) in the tank. — 13 days ago

Nice bottle, good sale price (40 for 10off). Almost too acidic by the end of the bottle. :( — 2 months ago

Clos Saint Jacques Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2010

2010 vintage. Not a fave producer by any means but a fave plot. Opened and decanted with a small amount of sed. Verry aromatic throughout. Didn't want to open this but the other/first red Burg offering/option was underwhelming so this got pressed into service. Light medium/medium body. Plenty of complexities in both the nose and mouth. Excellent acidity baseline to administrate the proceedings. This can easily go another decade. Didn't have enough time to experience this properly unfolding but the time that was spent was thoroughly enjoyable. 10.2.26. — a day ago

Domaine Armand Rousseau

Clos St. Jacques Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2004

Clos Saint‑Jacques is often hailed as the “Musigny” of Gevrey‑Chambertin. It combines the signature power and structure of Gevrey with the elegance and finesse of Vosne‑Romanée, and Armand Rousseau’s bottling has always been remarkably consistent.

2004 was a challenging vintage—a weak year in which many grapes failed to reach full ripeness. Now that it has entered its drinking window, it opens up quite nicely. This is not a flamboyant style; instead, it leans more toward herbaceous notes and bay leaf, with hints of florals and red cherry. It has a mineral quality, yet without the saline or briny character often found in other Gevrey vineyards. The acidity is well‑balanced. The overall bouquet is delicately fresh, reserved rather than exuberant, yet persistent, and it doesn’t evolve dramatically over time.

Lots of cranberry, tang and snap, with a really good creamy mouthfeel. Elegant but not polite, carrying that classic Poulsard back-alley punk rock energy. Light on its feet, bright, savory and full of character. — 3 months ago

Few bubbles in the glass. Bruised golden apple, golden pear, slightly reductive / sherry-like. Reminded me a lot of the Peter Lauer 1987 Riesling sekt, but with fewer bubbles. An interesting but not crowd-pleasing Champagne. @ Persona, Stockholm — 4 months ago

Le Vieux Donjon Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend 2019

A blend of mostly Grenache with Mourvèdre, Syrah and Cinsault. Medium Ruby with aromas of ripe black fruits and earthy pepper spice. On the palate complex flavors of cherry and blackberry, with oak, leather, cacao and earthy spice. Full body, well balanced, fine tannins, long finish, perfect now but will last another decade. Outstanding. — 20 days ago

Oxidized, nutty, complex and electric, with incredible acidity and a hint of VA. Long, profound and totally singular. Puffeney is the master, and this shows exactly why. — 3 months ago
