Cuvée Camille Morgon Gamay 2024

WotN. Tense fruit-driven nose of stones and blackberries with a fun palate yet very serious finish. Wow — 21 days ago

Alsace Riesling

Really nice light and matured field like rising. Green apples, mibnt, ligt tobacco notes I aroma. Green apples, green peaches, pinch of sweet green grapes at palate. Medium accidity. Fresh but has a character. — 2 months ago

Clos St. Urbain Rangen de Thann Pinot Gris 2022

Beautifully aromatic with exotic spice, peaches, a touch of of Freire ha & herbs.
Amazing purity on the palate with energy & precision. Rich yet bone dry. With minerality & salinity. The length is just insane. The depth even beats that. Shy apricot & peach in the background but it’s really not about the fruit. The terroir here - wow!
A spectacular & profound wine.

Brand (Turckheim) Grand Cru Riesling 2015

Very enjoyable! With complexity but still easy to approach, has petroleum notes alternating with flowery and fruity. More on the ripe and even a tiny sweet side. — a month ago

Mambourg Grand Cru White Pinot Blend 2012

Bought these on our honeymoon many moons ago. Quite rich and deep. Not sure it has the acid for my current palate but still delicious. — 2 months ago

Clos Saint Urbain Rangen de Thann Riesling 1989

Riper, fatter and seems more evolved than the more linear and precise 1988, but like that other bottle, dry Alsatian Grand Cru Riesling with great complexity and length, floral, mineral, white stonefruits, different but equally lovely, last bottle, also purchased on release, these are amazing wines!! — 21 days ago

Jealous! Love this producer. Just got back from Alsace. An ‘88 is on my bucket list since it’s a birth year.

@Shay A, one thing I really appreciated was that both Z-H wines had been made DRY — I recall a period (late 1990s/early 2000s) where a lot of Alsatian producers were being criticized by consumers who didn’t know whether the wines were dry, semi-sweet, sweeter, etc., which IIRC led to many Alsatian producers using that 1-5 (??) “scale” on the bottle to indicate sweetness levels. These two bottles were obviously made dry, which I appreciated!!

Complantaion Alsace Gewürztraminer Blend

Discovered at a Baur au Lac Vins tasting, enjoyed it whilst minding Grischa. Perfume on the nose, interesting on the palate. — 3 months ago
