Acid, tastes like a bit of sour native yeast. Plenty of dark fruit and graphite. — 2 years ago
Solid wine. Will stand up to fish and meat. Nuts and slight sweet favour. Went brilliantly with scallops — 4 years ago
Cool black fruits, black cherry, boysenberry. Refreshing. Gentle tannins under the palate. Nice acid lift. Drank w a slight chill. — 6 years ago
First vintage of this wine, Uwe Schiefer made out of a parcel which is directly beside the one from Roland Velich (Moric). A different Schiefer. Much leaner & withy with a hint more precision than the Reihburg imo. The fruit is withdrawn, lots of herbs & earth notes. Tons of potential under the surface so give it the time it needs. A totally impressive Debut. — 10 years ago
A lovely Austrian wine, apparently similar to a Pinot! Beautiful vibrant flavours...lovely with Austrian dumplings :) — 11 years ago
What you want in a true, Austrian Blaufränkisch. Great depth and balance from the nose to the finish. Wonderful. — 2 months ago
This is such an amazing wine. What a nose. Grapey and I mean grapey but also an insane cola element that is not joking. Unreal herbals. The nose also has crystalline black fruits and almost a pastille quality. Wow. Stunning. Also smoke and mesquite bbq. 9.6 nose on the PNP. Stunning palate and needs air but my goodness this is better than any Moric ever. Stunning purity, clarity and depth. Unreal sweetness and such terrific freshnessx My goodness the energy here is off the charts and the deliciousness factor is un-fuck-withable. So balanced. This will open and it’s a 9.6 out of the gates. Blown away. Unreal concentration and juiciness. This is genius. — a year ago
First time I have a non “sweet wine” tokaj. It was definitely much less sweet, but still had a hint of thicker “syrup” like mouth feel that sweet wines have — 5 years ago
Talk about food-friendly! — 9 years ago
Oh yes I did. If the somms of Texas are going to grab pretty much every bottle not earmarked for NYC and CA, then I'm drinking this one! Grown on limestone, yes, this is a very different idea of what Gruner can do. Embrace it. There are grapes, and there is the soil/dirt/rocks/minerals they are planted in. — 10 years ago
Came to New York in my suitcase, and tasted a little mixed up and out of sorts, but what a tremendous amount of character and focus. A Burgenland Gruner that can show all those fat, butterscotch Gruners from Wachau how it's done. — 11 years ago
Easy drinking mature Pinot. Unexpected joy. — 4 months ago
Moric FUCKS. — 8 months ago
Nose has that cola thing but man is this more floral and subdued but also super complex and unique. Deep florals. Violets for sure. Painfully beautiful. So unique. Dark dried roses. Blackberry flower. Ripe gooey blackberries. So elegant and so intense. It’s got this layered complexity to it that is just insane. This is elite Lembeger. Moric top level but without all the wood. Wow this is a 9.8 nose. So exciting. Palate is scary elegant but also with unreal high toned black fruits and crushingly pure and ultra clean. Whip clean! Man that nose is crazy! Unreal slippery palate with such sexy texture and juiciness. Unreal tiny berry fruit intensity and sapidity. Black fruits galore and cleansing mineral freshness in the finish. Elite! This is so intense yet weightless. @Delectable Wine this a new winery called just “Enderle” please correct. Thanks! — 2 years ago
S had at Kismet, dry, mineral, she liked a lot — 9 years ago
A hint of cellar mustiness but it quickly blows off after the wine gets some air in the glass. Lots of spices, pepper, wet earth, lovage and some red fruit (Blind I definitely voted for a Cab Franc). Tense acidity, tannins are totally integrated. This Blaufränkisch has lots of edges, its not a flatterer. Good length. Although the acidity is still very present I think its time to drink it up. — 9 years ago
