OK, I cant be the only one to have their Furmint.
Delicious and lip-smacking similar to the gelatin rich chicken dumpling soup I paired this with.
I realized that this is what most regular folks enjoy about Chardonnay, aromatically mild, texturally rich and gulpable. It seems to hit an almosy umami type palate vibe. — 5 years ago

dry medium bodied white blend with slight notes of apricot, pear and a salty finish — 10 months ago
Solid wine. Will stand up to fish and meat. Nuts and slight sweet favour. Went brilliantly with scallops — 4 years ago
Golden yellow hue
On nose spicy oak is evident, but not overpowering
Lemon, goose berry, wet stone like minerality. On palate oak gives peppery and creamy feeling. Again lemon, lime, white currant. Medium acidity, mid weight and clearly has stuffing for atleast few years of aging. When wine warms up the oak takes bit too large role. Best served around 10 degC when it's wonderfully fresh. Goes down dangerously easy and worked great with grilled jumbo shrimps — 6 years ago
love it. smells a little funky, but drank light and crisp with low acidity. — 7 years ago
dry and rich with a creamy feel and definite oak notes. It almost feels like Chardonnay but without the fruit. Very smooth, the end has an almost almond taste. — 7 years ago
More broad, rich. Waxy, full. Nice. — 9 years ago

There is really only one grape variety that I know of in the world that deserves to always have an exclamation mark: Juhfark! Or as I like to shout, Juhfaaaaaaaark! (pronounced you-fark). Grown only on the tiny little hill of Somló, an ancient underwater volcano, in Southwestern Hungary, it is among my favorite grape varieties and simply one of the world’s coolest wines. @sap_somlo is one of the best producers of it, coaxing out its bee pollen and chamomile scents and electric neon lemon, citrus peel, and yellow herb flavors, all layered on top of the deep volcanic minerality. The longer you let these wines age, the more they taste like rocks. Tired of the same old flavors in your white wines? Get thee some Juhfark! — 5 years ago
100% Hárslevelű from Hungary’s Somló region. Deep gold color showing the age. Wet hay and dried apricot nose with honey undertone. Also reminds me of the sweet burnt caramel aromas of creme brûlée. On the palate sweet tropical fruit acidity (mango, pineapple), mineral and earth throughout. Heavy weight and plenty of texture puts this in the same league as some of the best Burgundy whites. From @sommselect dot com: This wine is farmed and crafted by Fekete Béla who is a 90-something-year-old unsung magician that turned a few acres of an ancient volcanic hillside terroir into thought-provoking wines with fathomless depth. It really is the work of a magician. — 7 years ago
Old native variety from Badacsony, along the slopes of Lake Balaton in Western Hungary. Reminiscent of Somloi Juhfark - waxy, full, smoky, flinty. Some freshness despite the full bodied and savory character. Volcanic, like Somló. — 9 years ago
