So good!! Drank with Kenzie and Adam Apr 25 — 4 years ago
2017 vintage. Certified organic Pinot Noir grapes from Garnet Valley which is the highest plantings in the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia.
A nose of bright cherry, carrot tops and celery salt.
Ripe cherries and herbaceous qualities envelope your palette. Earthy and a bit smokey with crisp acidity on the finish.
This wine was built for grilled Pacific salmon or duck pizza.
In 2017 , Shane Taylor won British Columbia Sommelier of the Year. Every year’s winner is given the opportunity to make a wine with Okanagan Crush Pad Winery.
This is Shane’s legacy and a very nice wine.

First off, let me say that Crush Pad’s bubble selection is the best I’ve had. Much like Tom Petty albums, I love each and every one. This is a Pinot Noir heavy mix of glorious bubbles and it is damn fine. On the Tom Petty scale: this bottle is easily a Wild One, Forever, from Toms first record. Much like the song I just want more when it’s over. A lot more. “I'd never get over how good it felt
When you finally kissed me
I will never regret baby
Baby, those few hours linger on in my head forever”.

69 Miles – Chardonnay 2024
Yolo County, California – USA 🇺🇸
Overview
An entry-level label of Lloyd Cellars, this Chardonnay showcases Rob Lloyd’s signature richness at a more approachable price point. The name 69 Miles represents the exact distance from the vineyard source to the winery’s crush pad—a nod to the precision and timeliness in harvesting and processing that preserves freshness.
Aromas & Flavors
Concentrated notes of mango, pear, and white peach lead, accented by buttercream and a touch of vanilla. The wine balances ripe fruit intensity with a gentle creaminess, offering opulence without heaviness.
Mouthfeel
Medium to full-bodied, creamy yet lifted, with a crisp streak of acidity that carries through the finish. The contrast between richness and freshness makes it both indulgent and food-friendly.
Winemaking Notes
Crafted under the careful hand of Rob Lloyd, known for his polished California Chardonnays. Though positioned as an entry-tier, the attention to vineyard sourcing and quick-to-crush handling gives this wine a high-quality edge.
Food Pairing
Perfect with roasted chicken, creamy pasta primavera, or seared scallops. Its tropical fruit core also plays beautifully with spiced dishes like Thai curry.
The Verdict
An affordable but well-crafted Chardonnay that delivers Lloyd’s signature plush style while keeping a refreshing edge. Proof that even at the entry-level, care in sourcing and timing can result in standout quality.
✨ Personal Highlight: I love how the story of 69 miles reflects vineyard-to-winery precision—it makes the wine’s freshness and balance even more meaningful. A perfect example of how detail in winemaking can elevate even an “everyday” label. Cheers! — 9 months ago

Everything you need to know about this wine is here (including some randoms about the winery dog apparently). Definitely better than the Beckstoffer Las Piedras Cab which basically tasted like a sample right off the crush pad and never developed. Took this one an hour to get going, as it seemed a little thin and metallic for the first while. After allowing to sit, this darker violet-tinged wine had a very nice mature huckleberry and hint of nitrogen and au jus. The middle of this wine gets a bit more robust with some darker chocolate notes but keeping that dark, expressive and even slightly sweeter fruit. The finish has quite a bit of pepper, but also a stiff oak tannin. This wine finishes pretty long. Not sure if I want to sell off the second bottle or keep it around another couple of years. IMO the Hill Family Merlot which is about $30 cheaper outdoes this one easily. — 8 years ago

2011 vintage and 100 % Okanagan Cabernet Franc.
Deep ruby red; impressive colour after 12 years.
Dried sweet raspberries, tobacco, sage .
and celery root on the nose.
Older dark fruit, tea, leather and garrigue. Tannins are smooth and acidity is still present and working well.
Owen Knowlton won Sommelier of the year in 2011 in British Columbia and was awarded the opportunity to make a wine with Okanagan Crush Pad…his choosing. 3 barrels…or 75 cases were made. Owen is a good friend and gifted me one of his last remaining bottles. — 3 years ago

Really good with pad Thai! The wine cuts through the spice of the dish, but the spice brings out the smooth sweetness of the wine. — 5 months ago
