A very pretty rosé. Served on British Airways, a British sparkler. — 8 months ago

Traditional Method Blanc de Blancs 2018

My first English sparkler and it didn’t disappoint! Better than many a Champagne I’ve had. Bright and vibrant, chalky with beautiful grapefruit tones. — 3 years ago

@Shay A Nyetimber is on my list to try. I’ll look for Bolney as well!

@Andrew McIntyre agreed. I’ve read much about English sparkling wines and was excited to try some.

Bohème Wines

English Hill Vineyard Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 2019

This wine should be rated higher, very well made organic Pinot. So much better than 90% of wines currently in the market. — 5 months ago

Nyetimber

Classic Cuvée Sparkling White Blend

Quite a nice #englishsparklingwine featuring the classic #chardonnay #pinotnoir and #pinotmeunier blend. Evolved balance between a racy lemony-style and a richer yeasty and brioche cuvée. Lovely 🍾 but for the same price seems like there are so many equally good if not better choices across the English Channel in Champagne.

Hattingley Valley

Classic Reserve English Sparkling Pinot Noir Blend

50% Pinot Noir 30% Chardonnay 19% Pinot Meunière and interestingly 1 % Pinot Gris. Extremely fine mousse. On the nose and palate Citrus and Granny Smith apple - very refreshing. Chalky soils. Many tasters would pick this as French in a blind tasting. The trouble is by the time this gets to Australia the price is similar to an average NV Champagne so to the average buyer the Champagne is the safe bet but make no mistake these are first class Sparklers. — 3 years ago

Agreed, we love the English bubbles here too, but pricing is getting closer to the first tier, good Champagne offerings.

Château Talbot

Saint-Julien Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2021

Blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. This estate owes its name to Connetable Talbot, the English general & governor of the province of Guyenne who was defeated at the famous Battle of Castillon in 1453. Deep Ruby color, with aromas of black fruits, herb, tobacco and earthy notes. On the palate flavors of plums and black currants with cacao and tobacco spice, on a well balanced frame. Fine tight tannins, long finish ending with fruit, earthy spice and cedar character. Nice! — 7 months ago
