Miguel Torres

Salmos Priorat Cariñena Blend 2019

Torres family has been related to wine since 17th century when their ancestors first planted vines in the Penedès, a winegrowing region dating to the days of the Phoenicians. Deep Ruby with aromas of jammy fruit, pepper and toasty cedar. On the palate this blend of Cariñena, Garnacha and Syrah shows black currant, jammy blackberry and pepper, vivid acidity with fine grainy tannins, long finish ending with fruit, spice, oak and earthy character. Nice. — 22 days ago

Clos Mogador

Priorat Red Blend 2010

BlackBerry, blueberry, black pepper and licorice surrounded with well integrated and soft tannins. While the finish was not as profound as I would have liked this was an excellent wine to represent Priorat’s Garnacha-based blends. — 2 months ago

Finca Dofí Priorat Garnacha Blend 2022

This is pure Catalan soul in a bottle—think sun-soaked red cherry, wild herbs, crushed slate, and just a touch of smoky spice. Bold yet refined, with the energy of Priorat’s rugged hills and the elegance of world-class winemaking.

i'm going to stick with my note from the 2020: too generic, this vintage had a very firm tannic grip but same aromatic & flavor profiles — 2 months ago

Mas Doix

Doix Costers de Vinyes Velles Priorat Carignan - Grenache Blend 2008

A lovely blend from Priorat of around 50/50 Garnacha and Carinena, sometimes with a little Merlot included in some years. A red and black fruited palate with ripe blackcurrant. Opulent. I have a previous Delectable note for this wine - 77? Weeks ago. Reinforces my love of Priorat and Garnacha in particular. From the producer’s oldest vines - approximately 110 years. The 14.5% Alcohol does not show at all. — a month ago

whoa - this was a hedonistic wine, inky w/pungent aromas of blackberry, black cherry, plums, licorice, cassis, vanilla, cocoa and minerality running through it all - liquified compote like fruit - on the palate you get some phenolic heat but just gobs of velvety black fruit, spice and minerals, big plush, integrated tannins and just enough acidity to keep everything moving to a long lingering caressing finish. known this producer for a long time, a Priorato stalwart - their entry level wine, doesn't have the typical terroir of the region but still impressive — 2 months ago
