Vintage 2010 | My last 375 ml, curious because I thought it might be too old. Instead: it is g o r g e o u s. Beautiful ripened cab franc smell, as vibrant as possible. The back label says cab franc ánd cab sauvignon. Elegant taste. This wine is from the time Frederic Brochet owned the domaine and wanted to make wines as beautiful as possible. Proof that great wines can be made in Vienne. Biological organic wine, if anyone needs proof that these wines can ripen > this is a great example. Intensely fragrant (as expected) and concentrated. Rose petals, very ripe stone and all the tropical tropical fruit (poached apricot, green melon, papaya, guava, pineapple), candied ginger, nutmeg, tangerine. Viscous, creamy; Exuberant; ripe, rich, warm, with noticeable R/S, but not quite flabby or cloying. Long finish. — 4 years ago

Really nice balance of citrus, mineral, and sweetness. This is a dry wine, but for the sugar-averse, there’s a little r/s here. Paired perfectly with our veggie-based stew and handled pork meatballs as well. Easy to drink, low alc. Hard not to love this wine. SommSelect — 6 years ago

My contributions for a fun right bank Bordeaux dinner. This ended up being a standout amongst the group but others included ‘95 Cheval Blanc, ‘05 L’Evangile and ‘89 Figeac (the starter whites may have stole the show…mag of ‘10 Chave Hermitage Blanc, ‘08 Dom, ‘21 Magi’s CdP Blanc…this ‘04 ZH I brought was an excellent bridge to dessert…good r/s but not cloying; incredible vineyard).

I’ve only had TR once before but it was infanticide many years ago. At roughly 20yrs, I was excited to catch this on what I expected to be near peak. Very tight upon opening but after 45mins in the bottle, this really strut its stuff. Red and purple floral aromatics, bay leaf, and leather. Beautifully elegant on the palate but everything is in its place…supremely balanced. Clean (no brett), multi-layered fruit spectrum (red, purple, blackberries), sweet tobacco, espresso, little cassis. No roasted or over ripe profile, and also not a lean/green machine. Balance balance balance. Lovely. Wish I had another. — 3 months ago

Medium golden color. Aromas of white flowers, green melon and fresh herbs. Melon, pear, green apple and citrus fruits (grapefruit and pineapple) on the palate with hints of butter and those fresh herbs. Pleasant mineral component on the finish. Lovely smooth and creamy texture (malolactic fermentation) but no sign of oak. Medium acidity. Nice start to the day, Keith S! Revisited in November 2024. Aging beautifully. Taking my rating up to 9.1. Revisited again in May 2025. Still outstanding! — 2 years ago

14’ d'Yquem "Y" 75% SB 25% Semillon.
Let this warm up & open up in the glass for a good 30+ minutes. Medium gold color. Yellow/green apple, apricot, white peach, pear, hint of honey. wrapped in light/medium acidity. Everything plays together beautifully. Wonderfully made wine.
