Dark ruby hue. Aromas and flavors of blackberry, cassis, licorice, and plum. Plus body, plus tannins, plus acid. While strong, balanced, and elegant, it opens up with a soft, round palate. Exemplary Napa red. 68 Cab Sauv, 28 Merlot, 2 Cab Franc, 2 Petit Verdot. — 2 years ago
Blend of 68% Cab Sauv, 27% Merlot, 3% Cab Franc and 2% Petit Verdot, deep Ruby with aromas of dark fruits, floral and spice. On the palate flavors of black cherry, currant and blueberry fruit with cigar box and cinnamon spice. Lively acidity, elegant fine tannins, well balanced just starting to wake up, long finish ending with slight earthy notes, plenty of depth, will continue to develop. Pretty color of dark ruby with a wide reddish rim.
Fruity nose of black currants, black plums, light oak, spices, tobacco leaf and dark chocolates.
Medium plus in body and elegant, with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with blueberries, cooked cherries, black currants, plums, light cedar, earth, herbs, chocolates, spices and black pepper.
Medium plus on the finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.
This is a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon based blend from Saint Estephe. Elegant, and still very fruit forward, for a 10 year old wine.
Will continue to age nicely in the next few years, but already drinking beautifully now. Nicely balanced with a nice mouthfeel.
