Crisp aroma of yellow apple, pear, & petroleum. Soft, almost buttery notes of lemon zest, yellow apple, pear, honeysuckle, & residual sugar. Crisp, yet sweet. Delicious wine. Had this next to the regular Boxler Pinot Gris, and both are phenomenal. This one leans a bit sweeter though. — 2 years ago
This was slammin, wears the 9 g/l RS like a champ. Pleanty of plushy depth, brilliant acid, aromas for days. Almost hedonistic fruit but in balance, just a joy to have in the glass . — 3 years ago
One of the most respected names in Alsace, Albert Boxler holds a total of 14 hectares in and around Niedermorschwihr, approximately half of them in the Brand and Sommerberg grand crus. Within the Sommerberg, they vinify each of their parcels separately and produce multiple Riesling bottlings from different lieux-dits, discreetly indicated with capitals on their labels.
The Sommerberg D comes from a southeast-facing plot with 70+ year old vines on granite soils at altitude of about 250-290 meters (820-950 ft) in the Dudenstein section. The Sommerberg E comes from a very steep and stony plot with 45+ year-old vines higher up in the hill at about 400m (1,300ft) in the Eckberg section. The “regular” Sommerberg is sourced from two different plots with 40+ year-old vines at an elevation of 320-330 meters (1,000 ft). Additionally they produce a JV Jeunes Vignes (aka Réserve in the US, pictured here) with the youngest vines or declassified fruit from these sites as well as their late harvest/Vendange Tardive VT and Sélection de Grains Nobles S.G.N. depending on the year. — 5 years ago
A wine of gras, texture, perfume and complex interplay of fruit and spice. Grilled peach, poached pear, white cherry, rose petals, caraway, cloves, spice, stone. Considerable RS, has to be 40 g/l +, but its phenolic grip and weight balance it. Been enjoying it over 7 days, great with red curry, harrissa chicken and cous cous, and triple cream — 3 years ago
Very floral and aromatic on the nose, white peach but no ginger, slightly leesy and balanced — 5 years ago

Domaine Jean-Marc Bernhard Alsace Grand Cru Riesling ‘Wineck-Schlossberg’ 2019: Light-bodied. Vibrant acidity. Refreshing taste. Classic Riesling nose with palate flavors of apple, apricot, lemon & minerals. Lovely off-dry finish. All in all, a clean & bright Alsace Riesling; very pleasant, very versatile, good value. Happy Saturday to all! Cheers🍷 — 4 years ago
Clear, medium gold with nice with nice unncharacteristic legs given away high alcohol content for a Riesling. Nose of medium+ intensity, primary, developing. Honeysuckle, peach and hint of melon on the nose. Off dry palate with high acidity offsetting the medium+ body. Leads to a medium+ finish. Juicy, concentrated and flavorful now but should develop some interesting secondary notes adding to complexity down the line. — 5 years ago

Killing this with my dad. He says my Mom would have loved this wine. She did enjoy Gewurtztraminer. This is very nice. Some stonyness, honey-like, musty. Clean finish. I’m not a huge Gewurtz fan, but this hits. — 6 months ago
