My favorite treat! — a year ago
Interesting profile: dried cherries, granny smith, cedar box, with a hint of a big red wine (AUS Shiraz, etc.). Not a lot of carbonation, would have liked to have opened a bottle a year ago to see what role aging has played (bottled 1/16/15). — 9 years ago

Last night we finished a few low bottles, including this Elmer. When I opened this in April, it wasn't awesome, but of course by the last few drams it was firing on all cylinders. Sweet cinnamon and pleasant oaky tannins.

Wow. Fourteen year-old Chianti that retains the liveliness of youth. Tart plum and sour cherry fruit, but a more sophisticated nose of leather and earth, with subtle floral notes in the background. Sufficient acid and tannic backbone to be an excellent food wine but balanced and quite enjoyable on its own. Enjoyed the 2006 vintage with a heaping plate of freshly baked ciabatta, Taleggio, Gorgonzola, cherries and dates. I am so glad there is a second bottle of this in my wine fridge. — 6 years ago

2008 inaugural batch. Cellared well. Delicious. Sour ale still singing. Would say stewed currants 17 years in. — 10 months ago
