Very nice blend. Had the 2013 with Kim at 1776. Took some time to open but worth the wait. — 5 years ago
Brighter and more complex than many from California. This wine really came alive with a complex shrimp in caper tomato cream sauce. A real delight. — 7 years ago
Had to explain today how good these 1970’s wines from Burgess Cellars were. I may not have immediately thought it was Pinot Noir but it clearly was an older wine with plenty of charisma. Back when most Pinot Noir was insipid and nondescript this one became something special. — 7 years ago
Very smooth but not much body. — 9 months ago
What a joy to taste well aged, well made Napa Cab. From a tasting of ‘98s from benchmark producers (Phelps, Clos du Val, Burgess) this was a favorite. Soft and velvety texture, very elegant, complex nose, long finish, this wine is what I wish more folks got to experience for the varietal and appellation. There has been a bunch of challenging press lately on Napa and Cab in particular, tasting this will remind us of what we are aiming for in this valley. — 4 years ago

What. A. Wine. Very light smell- dark berries, floral, bit of oak. Taste blew me away. Crisp boysenberry that gets jammy as it lingers. In the middle I’m getting a really unique aged taste, dried currants with pleasant oak and floral notes. Feels like a journey with this wine from start to finish. It’s an extremely unique wine from my favorite stop from Napa! I love love LOVE this wine!! — 6 years ago

Wow! PnP. Lovely dark red color. Cedar, anise, dark cherries, cigar box, and a hint of pepper. Could mistake for a classic Bordeaux. Great texture and depth on the palate with the cedar and rustic fruit coming through in an integrated fashion. Medium plus finish. Wish it wasn’t my last bottle :( — 6 months ago
