2021 vintage.
Sangiovese 60 % and Cabernet Sauvignon 40 % from Pitigliano estate in Maremma, Tuscany with a southwest exposure.
Owned by Tommasi family since 1997.
Rompicolla is ‘breakneck’ but means tremendously steep and slippery slope…a risky adventure.
Soils are deep in volcanic tuff.
Stainless steel ferment and matured 1 year in 65 HL Slavonian oak casks.
Red cherries, raspberries, savoury spice, and floral.
Medium bodied but fresh and clean on the finish.

Very nice super Tuscan, Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon blend. Easy to drink and pares well with pasta, red and white meat and a variety of dishes. Ruby color with pleasant nose and taste of dark cherry. Drank in April 2026. Smooth. — 2 months ago

Fresh, but with an ripe apple and pineapple you don't feel citrus bitterness. — 3 years ago
I buy a bottle whenever it’s in stock at wholefoods. Thus is a big seller and it’s because it’s a delicious amarone. — 4 years ago
Finally made it to the Italian Alps! Carne salada e Pinot Nero! First wine of this 7 day mini trip to the Trentino region. Cheers🍷 — 6 years ago
Great body wine with a smooth aftertaste at a very affordable price. — 6 years ago
Clear, medium ruby to garnet in color; on the nose it's, clean with pronounced primary and secondary aromas of cherries, almond, and cloves; on the palate, it's dry with high acidity, medium tannins, medium alcohol, medium body, and pronounced primary and secondary flavors of tart cherry, ripe strawberry, tar, and black tea with a long finish. This wine is complex and intense. Overall, I rate this wine as very good. Nellie likes it too. — 5 months ago
Dry. Robust. A little fruity, but not sweet. Hint tobacco. — 2 years ago
