Stopped by Joseph Swan for a quick tasting flight this afternoon, this wasn’t on the flight but since the 2013 Syrah was so fabulous, picked up a bottle of the 2011 to pair with some great cheese we bought, this shows inky color, mostly black fruits, complexity yet still so very young, medium-long finish, 11 years old going on 3, needs more aging!! — 4 years ago
Monthly 4th Friday is post Thanksgiving this year, so lots of Thanksgiving style wines!
Skunky and tart on the nose! Butterscotch, unripe pear, truffled mushroom on the nose with herbal funk on the palate. Lots of acidity. Fruit has mainly subsided, but the acidity keeps it interesting. Marcassin-esque in terms of savoriness. — 8 years ago
Reminds me of Chablis. Elegant nose and great mouthfeel and finish. — 8 years ago
This is still very good but was likely peaking 2-3 years ago. It's still drinking nicely...just better a couple years back. On the nose, stewed, candied fruits with a shade of tartiness. Blackberries, plum, dark cherries, cherries, extracted pomegranate, cranberries, raspberries, whispers of baking spices, dry limestone earth, dark volcanic minerals and decayed dark florals. The medium body is waning. Tannins completely resolved. The fruits match the nose with a touch of pruniness but still show nicely. There's more dark spices on the palate than the nose. Light baking spices with vanilla leading the way, gritty dark minerals, rich black earth, decayed dark florals & nice round acidity that rains on the palate. The finish is soft, ripe, round and elegant with spices that give a light sting on the long finish. Photos of; one of the Kistler vineyards, the Trenton Road House, the front entrance and estate patio. If you own the 01 Sonoma, it's time to drink up. — 9 years ago
This wine is delicious from top to bottom. The nose reveals pencil shavings and graphite; just what I would expect from a superb Pinot Noir in this stage of its development. The flavors, however, caught me by pleasant surprise. Bountiful acidity and high-toned red fruits like cranberries and plums integrate seamlessly with a pleasant earthy, umami base. Drink now or continue cellaring. — 11 years ago

Trenton Vineyard. Very good wine — 8 years ago
Trenton brought this wine for Thanksgiving dinner at Val's. Real smooth. — 10 years ago
Earthy aroma. Flavors of black currant with a slightly tart, tannic finish. — 11 years ago
Perhaps too young at 9? Cranberry almost orange creamsicle like nose with thicker jammy body notes of licorice all throughout and a sharp finish — 3 years ago
My favorite Chardonnay winery. Had on 1/14/22. 2017vintage. Vine hill. Aroma of baked apple and some pear. Acidic but still has creaminess mixed in. Tart but juicy green apple and a little lemon. Just a hint of toasted nuts. Also some mineral taste. Complex. Loved visiting the Trenton roadhouse tasting room outdoors last Spring. — 4 years ago
Redfruits, somewhat ripe, medium-full-bodied on palate, good acidity, nice RRV Syrah! — 6 years ago
This is Roth Russian River Valley, Trenton Road Vineyard. Delectable can’t get this one right! Awesome Pinot from Bill Foley! Small batch and single vineyard. — 8 years ago
Delicious, rich, but not overly oaked. Lots of lush tropical fruit and softness, but fortunately for Burgundy fans, still some mineral and acidity. Better than past vintages of Trenton Roadhouse, but I still prefer some of the other Kistler vineyards. — 9 years ago
V12. Slightly smokey bouquet. Rich black cherry with a spices peppery finish. Nice wine — 11 years ago
