Smoky Red Mountain Syrah. Silty on the nose. Blackberry/raspberry, Acidic and astringent. Might be better with longer decanting. — a year ago
Wet stone, creosote, black cherry and a hint of oak permeate this 10 year old Malbec dominant blend. On the pallet, huge tannins still greet you first, followed by intense red fruit (cherry and red plum), aged meat, white pepper and tobacco. This is outrageously good wine. It could still age another 5 years at least (hardly any signs of oxidation so far). — 7 years ago
Really enjoyed this wine. Really smooth — 7 years ago
2014 - excellent — 8 years ago

Great blend. I like dry and this has just the right amount. Typically Bordeaux drinker but this is perfect alternative. — 9 years ago
Ruby in color with a wide reddish/brick rim.
Pretty nose of black currants, black cherries, raspberries, spices, light earth, light oak, wild flowers, tobacco leaf and black pepper.
Medium bodied and elegant with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with cherries, sweet raspberries, earth, light oak, spices, tobacco leaf, dark chocolates and black pepper.
Long finish with very little tannins and sour cranberries.
This 12 year old Pinot Noir from Napa Valley is delicious now. Showing nice complexity with a soft mouthfeel.
Actually, it feels more like a Burgundy Pinot Noir. Interesting stuff.
Easy drinking and good right out of the bottle. Nicely balanced and good by itself.
This Single Vineyard Pinot Noir is peaking now. A great sipping wine.
Thank you Scott for sharing this with me.
I had the 2014 a year ago, and this is even better. Delicious wine.
100% Pinot Noir grapes were aged in French oak barrels for 18 months. Unfiltered and unfined.
13.4% alcohol by volume.
92 points.

i was fortunate enough to get the opportunity to help sorting out chenin blanc grapes in seahorse winery as part of 2019 wine preparation.
i recieved a bottle of last year's wine as a gratitude.
100% chenin Blanc
wild fermentation with no added yeast.
9 months french oak treatment.
14.5% ABV 💪
lots of sweetness in the grape for the yeast to burp all this drunkability.
pale straw with some yellow hinted 👀
colder it's some tropics jumping out at ya.
getting warmer it's almost completely replaced with lemon oil, stone fruit and hints of honey and grated ginger 👃
medium plus body.
bursting high acidity.
it takes a few sips to comprehend the taste.
tart and peachy first. some bitterness coming and hiding at every other sip. 👄 is filled with balanced and complex tartness and other friends.
dry medium 🎯
a winner that is thought provoking.
this is harmonious complexity, and that is always interesting.
good vfm (110 nis).
quality isn't cheap.
had it with lime(juice and peel) and parmigiano pasta the 1st day, they were good friends but not bff.
on it's own second day. wine is always better with something to munch on. — 7 years ago
If I was balancing my rating relative to price, I would rate it higher. Very nice, reasonably priced, middle of the week, wine. Great value! — 8 years ago
Another 15 Berlioz freak show. The overachieving runt of the litter, the Altesse. It's my sentimental favorite of all the wines. Super high acid is probably why. Also the unique flavor profile. Huge deep aromas of mountain violets, other mountainous wild flowers, earth, intense almost saline feral minerality. Fruit, flowers, slices galore. A regular aromatic symphony. Stunning. Just so sick. Palate is at once unctuous and rich yet super fine, elegant and shockingly refined and balanced. Prodigious concentration and purity. Opulent yet fresh and super precise. Amazing power. Amazing density yet playful. Great great wine. — 9 years ago
Alpine Roots Humagne Rouge 2023, AOC Valais, Switzerland 🇨🇭
Overview
100% Humagne Rouge, an indigenous Alpine variety from the Valais region of Switzerland. Grown in steep mountain vineyards with strong sun exposure and cool alpine influence. A terroir-driven wine that reflects the purity, freshness, and rustic charm of Swiss mountain viticulture.
Aromas & Flavors
Wild dark berries, red currant, cocoa powder, subtle dried herbs, and a touch of alpine earthiness. The fruit remains fresh while savory tones begin to emerge with air.
Mouthfeel
Light to medium body with soft edges and refined rusticity. Gentle tannins and bright acidity keep the wine lively and approachable. A textured palate that leans savory rather than fruit-heavy.
Food Pairings
Charcuterie, roasted poultry, mushroom dishes, alpine cheeses, lamb sausages, or herb-driven Mediterranean dishes.
Verdict
Distinctive and surprisingly charming. A wine that doesn’t try to imitate global varieties but instead celebrates its mountain identity. Approachable, food-friendly, and quietly intriguing.
Did You Know?
Humagne Rouge is native to the Swiss Alps and thrives in the steep terraces of Valais, where intense sunlight and cool mountain nights help maintain freshness and aromatic clarity.
🍷 Personal Pick
A wonderful curveball wine. Rustic, cocoa-tinged, and incredibly food friendly, the kind of bottle that makes people ask, “Wait… Switzerland makes wine?” — 4 months ago
Love a good blend. Didn't let it breath, initial taste peppery/fruit with earthy nuances. — 6 years ago
Tastes like mountain wine, wild berries, mineral, dry, black tea, light tannins, bright acidity. — 7 years ago
Cloves, cherries, petrol. Soft, round easy. A great Pinot for the money. $19.99 in PA. — 7 years ago
Weighing in at 13.5% alcohol this wine is a blend of 75% Pinot Noir and the remainder Chardonnay. Showing a brilliant near salmon color, the wine shows ripe pear with brioche and hints of wild strawberry that fill the nose. I love the mid-palate weight of the wine but despite the sturdy backbone this comes off remarkably refreshing. The palate shows a remarkable tension and salinity, yielding a wonderful range of flavors, from kumquat to Japanese pear to sourdough bread. Lithe and rich, this will cellar well for a decade or more. Drink 2018-2030- 93 — 7 years ago
