Superiore. A little farmy, good Barbera acids, some graphite, stewed cherries. From Prospect Wines. 11/13/2023 — 3 years ago
Oct 2025: PnP, very good nose, palate, balance, a good Monforte Barolo, at peak — 7 months ago
I’ve never had Rossese Bianco and as a fan of Rossese (red), it’s exciting to try this (from Piemonte, surprisingly). Nose is quite herbal with a little note of raw almond. Slight note of stone fruit pits. Crisp and cleansing and refreshing in the mouth (as are many of its red siblings). Nice intensity and balance. This would be a very nice summer antipasto accompaniment. Thanks to my brother Angelo for spying and snagging this for me! — 7 months ago
Tannic but not too much, fruit but not overly ripe, distinct dried flower notes. Ah, tradition. Really good old school barolo. — 3 years ago

Opened about two hours prior to service and allowed to Audouze. The 1996 La Gramolere Riserva pours a garnet color with a transparent core; medium+ viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is vinous with classic notes of Morello cherry, raspberry, truffle, dried roses, tar, leather, dried herbs and dusty earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with high tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose the finish is long; powerful and beautiful. Still fresh, this is a fabulously delicious Riserva by an underrated producer. Drink now with a little patience and through 2046. — 24 days ago
